@DanSmithForTees Really hard to scan their warrant card as they’re rugby tackling you to the ground. Also with Sarah Everard it would have said his card was valid. I don’t know what the answer is, but I suspect this isn’t it. At least not in confrontational situations

@benbbd It would be a cultural change but would restore some element of trust and also increase safety. When you look at the alternatives, or lack of, then this is actually a constructive step forward.

Could a police warrant card have a QR code which could be scanned with any mobile phone and links to the police database? It would allow a person to validate it is real and the officer is who they say they are and also flag that officer has arrested that person at that time.
