Wales couldn’t wear Red against the Irish’ Green because of colour blindness and yet this isn’t a kit clash?! 🤷🏻‍♂️

I spent yesterday morning wandering round the Jewish Quarter in Vilnius. Established by Royal Decree in 1633, it was a vibrant part of the city with markets, bars, craftsmen such as glassblowers (there were three Glass Streets, and today the area is known as the Glass Quarter)

@benbrook There's a café in the fish market that does fantastic fish and chips. I went twice! The observation deck at the top of the Latvian Academy of Sciences building has incredible views of the city.

@TimMcKenna01 Thanks Tim, long time follower & fan here. I just arrived in Vilnius, on my bike from Warsaw, and your tweets came up in a search. Just had a look at the Quarters, very interesting. On towards Riga tomorrow!

Since independence from the Soviet Union in 1990, Vilnius has started to commemorate the history of its Jewish inhabitants. One initiative is Walls That Remember, where pre-WWII photos are stencilled onto walls in the Jewish Quarter.
