Monday Motivation Rise & Grind 💪🏾

had the privilege of attending the Eighth @AIIB_Official Forum today, where discussions centered on Innovative Financing, a subject I’ve long been deeply engaged with, both intellectually and professionally, during my tenure at The World Bank Group. I strongly align with the imperative for MDBs to continuously evolve and remain fit-for-purpose. It was especially valuable to hear concrete, practical pathways to operationalize this vision, thanks to a distinguished panel of diverse experts. Fundamental reform of the global financial architecture is not only timely — it is essential for the future resilience of our economies and the development of the Global South. 💪🏾 #VijanaNaOpportunities

Beautiful Sabbath Rest! We thank God for His Grace and Mercy!! Hebrews 4:9-10 – “There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.” BC

It was a great evening spent with friends and former colleagues in the MDB / DFI ecosystem ( AGF/AfDB, and the World Bank)- Their Excellencies Ambassador Lynette Mwende of Kenya and Ambassador Franck Adjagba of Benin during their working visit to the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). It truly reflects the tapestry of life—now we find ourselves serving together here in Beijing. @LynettemwendeL

Farewell Dinner for a Consequential Leader and Diplomat! Last evening, I had the honour of joining a distinguished group of Excellencies — Ambassadors and Heads of UN Missions in Beijing — for a warm farewell dinner in honour of my dear mentor, His Excellency Siddharth Chatterjee (Sid). After an outstanding tenure as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in China (2021–early 2026), Sid leaves behind a legacy of dynamic leadership and unwavering commitment to multilateralism. With nearly three decades of UN service, Sid has been an inspiring mentor and incredible diplomat. He now continues his journey as CEO of Global Neighbours ( Vienna Austria) and has been formally appointed as Distinguished Visiting Professor at Schwarzman College -Tsinghua University (now Professor Sid) in Beijing China, where he will teach on “China and the World” and contribute to public policy education. @sidchat1 @AmaSande @MwendeLinai

Remembering Our Dad – William Lumati Today marks one year since our beloved Dad rested on 8th May 2025. He was a great man — a man of extraordinary inspiration and selfless sacrifices. Above all, he led us to know and love God. Because of him, we are who we are today. One year on, we still deeply miss him, yet we celebrate his beautiful life and thank God for the incredible blessing of calling him our Dad. The baton he handed to us is firmly in our hands. We pray that God’s grace will always be sufficient as we run our individual races — discovering our generational duty, refusing to betray it, but fulfilling it for the progress of humanity, just as he did as a husband, dad, education officer, elder, farmer and leader. God bless the memory of our Dad. May his legacy live on through us.
