@MarkSlayerOfNon Agreed in the teaser releases, he seems to self-sabotage sometimes, and the Roxy cover for me, it should be a b-side, seems wedged into the album whereas he has plenty of his own songs already recorded for release.

Listening to Maladjusted, since a few songs have been in my head lately and Make Up isn't out here for 6 hours Never a favourite Morrissey album of mine, I find it holds up remarkably well, and has some genuine Morrissey masterpieces, amongst them the tour de force title track, the swoonsome Trouble Loves Me and the barnstorming Satan Rejected My Soul. At the time I found the occasional synthetic string aesthetic of the album off-putting, particularly in the wake of the utterly transcendent sonic perfection of Vauxhall And I... but I enjoy it now, much as I do Leonard Cohen's late 80s flirtations with a not dissimilar palette. Overall, much better than I remember it being... but a candle it holdeth not to my Bonfire bootlegs. Looking forward to Make Up, with a little trepidation...

@GeorgeBray 1/2 8, 4, 3, 0, 5, 6, 6, 8, 6, 6, 7. Second half definitely stronger. A absence of great tunes and Melodie’s overall. Lyrically, I ask where is the razor sharp wit or the heart tugging lyrics? Sure, there are glimpses, little nuggets but in the pantheon of his LP’s its 6/10
