The heart of this argument is "it's just easier to ask women not to have boundaries than to ask men to behave decently". That should never be the standard by which laws are made.
Malcolm Gate@MalcolGate

The ruling on the interpretation of biological sex in the Equality Act by the Supreme Court is 'bad law' ie. it will fail to achieve its 'intended purpose' and cause 'unintentional harm' both to trans people and to cis men and women if/when it is enforced. Chaos will ensue. #EHRC

Lachie Stewart wasn’t just a champion on the track—he spent over 60 years meticulously creating an exceptional collection of Clyde-built model ships. Now, you can see his work up close in the Chariots of Steam exhibition at North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre. 📅 Open until 17 Aug

47 million years ago, in a distant galaxy, a star exploded - it briefly shone brighter than a billion suns. Ever since, the light from that titanic explosion has been travelling between galaxies until it reached a little telescope in a back garden in Glasgow.

M63, the Sunflower Galaxy, around 29 million light years away (and getting further away by 500 kms every second).

I have, in the past, been a bit snooty about actually using an optical telescope to see things by eye, but Facebook adverts made me buy a Dwarf3 smart telescope, and it’s astounding. Andromeda. Taken over about 30 minutes of images, shot in our backyard in Glasgow:

Telescopes are amazing things - to be able to go out into our wee back garden in Maryhill, point it at the sky, and see Mars. Or Andromeda, a whole other galaxy! So go buy a telescope. Or steal one.

It wasn’t just SNP money of course- the investigation and prosecution cost over £2m of taxpayers’ money, and the SNP received significant short money from Westminster.

This idea that we shouldn’t care because it was SNP money that was stolen is so weird, but on-brand for a left-libertarian: “It doesn’t affect you, so why do you care,” is the response to so many questions.

Okay, so can I have the money I donated to the “ring-fenced independence fund” back now, or should I sit down again?

If I nicked £400k from a political party, I'd invest it in dirty women and drugs, not fritter it on a camper van. I thought the Scots were supposed to be canny.

@soppystern It has been knocked down from £460k, so I guess there’s quite a lot of staples.

Most of this spending was so grotesquely and self-evidently for personal use. That said, my mind keeps getting stuck on how someone uncovered the fact that £4 worth of staples were not a legitimate business expense. Call me soft, but I’d be tempted to let him off the staples. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@BertDalziel I wonder who Peter Murrell knows, who might be interested in a Folio edition of a book by a feminist political thinker?

To be fair, I’m always bringing home campervans and bags of jewellery and Mr Bertha just think it’s nice I have a hobby.
