What does this even mean? Oil companies don’t have massive tanks of oil inventory ready to ship. “Reserves” are undeveloped assets - oil still in the ground. There’s no “stockpiles” here. The Canadian government doesn’t seem to know anything about Canada’s oil industry.

The Bloc Québécois party got it's start back in the days when Quebec wanted to secede from Canada and become independent. That fizzled out, but the BQ has become just another wing of the Liberal Party, siphoning off votes from the Libs.

@AA7YA @The1Hamp Not exactly correct, but close. We have about 2,000,000 bpd refining capacity to meet Canadian demand +/- about 200,000 bpd. But we have nowhere the capacity to refine what we produce.

@The1Hamp Yeah, and that's why Canada was trying to get Keystone XL passed, which would have sent the oil from Alberta down to the Gulf Coast to be refined. Canada has no means of refining their own oil, so we do it for them.

Why not just sell it? The tariffs don't kick in until 12:01 A.M.

@AA7YA No they lost the Montreal by-election to the separatist Bloc Quebquois and in Winnipeg they garnered roughly 5% of the vote. The NDP held onto the Winnipeg seat

I know there were two by-elections yesterday. One in Winnipeg and one in Montreal. I suspect it was the seat in Winnipeg that was lost. Montreal is a liberal stronghold.
