It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Nathan Allman, Ondo's founder. Our hearts are with his family and loved ones. Nate’s brilliance, humility, and drive shaped every part of what Ondo is today. His belief in the power of technology to create a more open, accessible financial system lives on in everything we build. The impact he had on this industry, and on all of us personally, cannot be overstated. Nate also helped us build a durable organization with experienced leaders across all facets of the business. Ian De Bode, Ondo Finance’s longtime President, will serve as CEO. Ian has been leading our strategy, product, and day-to-day operations for over two years and has the full confidence of the leadership team. We will continue building what Nate started. That is the most meaningful way we know to honor him.

Some personal news*  I've recently joined @aave 👻 as Chief Strategy and Business Officer. After ~4 months of rest and reflection regarding the state of the industry, my personal life, and my ambitions, I feel more invigorated and determined than ever to contribute to the crypto space. When I stepped away from @AvaLabs earlier this year, I said I'd take time to think carefully about where I could contribute most. I’m grateful for the awesome opportunities I've been able to consider. The answer became clear over the past months and many conversations with @StaniKulechov and the Aave Labs team. I've long known Stani and Emilio and admired their work. Like them, I believe the future of finance is onchain, and Aave is at the center of this evolution. Aave has the opportunity to provide a better way to borrow and lend, and to build credit markets at internet scale. The legacy financial system is slow, fragmented, and quietly extractive, and most of the world is underserved by it. Aave has spent years proving, in production and across cycles, that an open and programmable alternative works at scale. The next chapter is about turning that foundation into the credit and capital markets layer of the internet. In this new role, I'll lead strategy, business development, and core operational functions,  working closely with Stani and the team to strengthen what's already working while pursuing the next set of opportunities ahead of us. I'm joining at a pivotal moment. The events of the past week have made clear there's real work to be done and lessons to be drawn. I’ve been working non-stop with the team on the recovery effort this past week and I have no doubt that Aave will emerge even stronger. What I've seen up close is grit, focus, and determination under pressure. This is exactly the kind of team I want to build alongside of, and it makes me even more confident about where this is all headed. -Luigi

There's no goal achieved without hard work. But if you love what you do, it’s a cheat code. You don't need to force it. The urgency comes naturally when you believe in what you're building. Find what you'd do for free. Then go all in.

You might be a great founder and have no idea. Most aspiring founders I meet are stuck in the same loop. Analysis paralysis. The only way to find out is to take action. Six years ago, I just started. You should too.

Throwback to four years ago today at @eMergeAmericas. I’m working the floor, meet a reporter, and immediately pitch her my friend @BenedettoBio who was building one of the coolest DeFi protocols on Algorand (@FolksFinance). Perfect story, right? I grab him, tell him this is great exposure, and he sits down ready to go. I’m standing off to the side waiting for the real questions: what problem are you solving, how does it work, why blockchain. First question out of her mouth: “So, what’s your favorite food?” Then, what kind of movies do you watch? On and on. I just stood there laughing. Four years later, we still bring it up. Funny reminder that no matter how cutting-edge the tech is, the world doesn’t always meet you where you think it will. You just have to laugh and keep building.
