the reason why your education channel is bleeding viewers in the first 2 minutes whilst others hold 60%+ AVD even though your value is so much higher comes down to 1 easy to miss error at the start of production no matter how valuable the information or content is, if you don't deliver it in an easy to digest way that keeps your viewers interested then you're going to lose them. it's like the guy digging for diamonds meme except you're the one supplying the shovels. the issue you have is your value is great, but 9 times out of 10 the delivery has no structure. if the bones dont work then having big muscles doesnt mean anything. but the fix is easy, so we look at what the top 0.1% are doing and in scriptwriting that's @GeorgeBlackman_ George developed the STP framework that is practically foolproof when followed correctly: 1. Setup: signal to the viewer what information they are about to get (creates anticipation) 2. Tension: build the answer and give context to why it matters to the viewer (keeps them watching) 3. Payoff: deliver the resolution and relate it to the videos goal (makes staying feel worth it) most education channels skip this entirely and just state facts, drop anecdotes, and pray it works. go from: information dump -> well structured and practical, will massively improve your retention P.S george if you see this you're the goat, his website is a goldmine for how to write scripts, definitely worth checking out

Built a tool nobody asked for but everyone needed. Running motion graphics across the @Sidemen team means every editor needs to be on the same templates. So I built a shared library that lives inside Premiere Pro. Update once, updated everywhere.

@discord_support @discord my account has been marked as spam for OVER THREE MONTHS. It is very annoying and affecting my experience using discord. I assume this is just a bug and it was meant to be removed a long time ago. Please help.

Beautiful animation Jan! It's really cinematic, so I went ahead and gave it some cinematic sound design. I love the space thematic, so I wanted to make it cinematic, suspenseful, and tense. You'll notice changes in perspective. The closer we are the louder the rolling of the marbles is, while deep synth serve as an undertone to rise above and build tension. Everything finally culminates around the 4th and 5th shot to round everything up, just as we see all marbles in the same shot. Perfect ending! Great animation deserves great sound design. It adds weight, and complements the visuals. Motion is 50% audio! Hope you like it! Visuals: @janhebein Sound design: @tvnxty

@vs1ual first tip I always give people is try to map every shortcut to your left hand (left side of the keyboard) so you don’t have to move far or take your other hand off the mouse

@pockyvisuals definitely, the first thing you do when you become an editor is try to copy all the cool effects you see but you don’t realise that actually building a cohesive story is half the job

@benjaminmcnaney great take, editors love to practice animations but fail miserably in building stories, creating jeopardy or handling open loops

most editors think the big skill unlocks are effects, colour grading or flashy motion graphics but the one that actually levels you up is learning how to cut properly, 90% of people do it robotically and cut every breath or every bit of dead air which turns the video into one big run on sentence so now the viewer is sat with information overload. this is especially important in educational videos (like the ones we develop at plated.media 😉) where the viewer needs a pause to process the knowledge you've just delivered fast cuts can be great for retention but if everything is fast then nothing is fast trust me going from: cut everything SUPER FAST MODE -> cut with intention and let the edit breathe will be the biggest quality boost you ever make

At this point I just vibecode my own apps using @Lovable instead of wasting my time searching app store to find what I want. One prompt and it one-shots the app fully, in perfect state for personal use. Then I just publish the app and save the shortcut to my phone home screen. I believe that 1% every day = 100% in 100 days. So, while I was on my way to the gym I built a habit tracker that shows you how your daily effort compounds over time. It's called 1%, and it's something I've been wanting for a while. No crazy extra features. Just habits and a % counter. You can just make things that make your life easier.

I sound designed this beautiful spring animation by @Apple shared by @avstorm, since it was missing a touch of spring. Apple always cared about details, so they should care about sound too. The paint stroke sound merges with the visual texture of the animation, complementing the main movement through moving volume, while the chirping and water bring life to the animation, reminding us of the core concept - Spring! Sometimes only a few sounds are enough to emphasize, and complete the experience while underlining the existing meaning. After all, motion is 50% audio. If you need audio work, DM me!
