@c_pdpls @KylerJohnsonDev @ayesha_fatiima It does this with Firefox and two other packages. There are 70,000 .deb packages, and Ubuntu pre-installs a few. That's not forcing anything. In two minutes, you can remove the snap version and install the .deb version from the Firefox repository.

@KylerJohnsonDev @ayesha_fatiima Explain to me how it’s not forcing when I run “apt install Firefox” and it pulls the snap version ? I then have to force the packet manager to pull the actual Firefox binary instead of the snap one. They managed to inject snap straight into the aptitude packet manager

Since Canonical keeps making anti-Linux decisions, it's getting ridiculous.
They are forcing Snaps on everything (even Firefox via apt), spam terminal with Ubuntu Pro ads, and the Snap Store keeps letting malware through.
This isn't the Ubuntu we loved anymore. It's turning corporate.
Time to switch. I am planning to go with fedora or something else

@rogelio_ferrer @SoyITPro Arch al día de hoy es muy estable, La tuve 1 años sin problema. Pero para estar más tranquilo siempre es bueno usar timeship con btrfs y tendrás siempre lo último y con la opción volver al estado anterior.

I wish you hadn't removed the Software & Updates app from 26.04. We now have no good GUI way to manage NVIDIA drivers.
26.04 doesn't recognize my RTX 5070 Ti even after running ubuntu-drivers. And nvidia-smi shows no GPUs.
24.04 and 25.10 didn't have this problem. We still need a way to manage GPU drivers.

@Techjunkie_Aman It's a feature of Firefox that I use daily. It still needs some improvements, such as syncing containers created in new sessions and ensuring that specific pages always open in a container.

@SoyITPro Es verdad, no lo sabemos! Pero yo creo que como tienen la mayor cuota del mercado han descuidado muchas cosas, y cuando se ven apretados es que reaccionan. Y el ejemplo es con la Mac Neo, que luego que salió y le está quitando usuarios, ahí si Windows dice que arreglarán W11.

Ubuntu es la distro obligada para todo el que quiera iniciar en Linux por ser user friendly.
