"White communities across America are hurting. Factories have closed. Life expectancy for many working-class Americans has fallen. Addiction and suicide have devastated entire towns. Acknowledging white advantage doesn’t deny any of that." -- @BenJealous communityjournal.net/op-ed-by-ben-j…

@BenJealous Ben, where the lie though about Ms. Goldberg Goldmans’s comments. I arrived at the same conclusion when Anthony Brown lost the gubernatorial race to Hogan a whole four years before you ran. I knew you’d lose for the same reason, yet I donated to your campaign and volunteered.

Four years ago, @@SusanWTurnbull and I waged a historic gubernatorial campaign against great odds both outside and inside our beloved Democratic Party. (1/10)

Reverend Jackson’s greatest legacy, after his children, each a true leader in their own right, may very well be all the younger people whose lives he transformed by investing himself in teaching and training generations of leaders. #RIPJesseJackson chicago.suntimes.com/columnists/202…

At 14, I joined your campaign. In my 20s, you welcomed me at the table. In my 30s, you counseled me at the NAACP. In my 40s, we marched for Trayvon. In my 50s, we sat together as we watched a Black woman accept our party’s nomination for president. Thank you, #RIPJesseJackson

"King understood that uniting people across racial lines was not just morally right ... It was the only way to build enough power to secure health care, fair wages, food security and basic stability for everyone," writes @benjealous. chicago.suntimes.com/columnists/202…

Turning 53… Missing my mentor Julian Bond. Julian’s favorite yarn: “I saw Dr. King walking across the yard. I said, ‘How are you?” Martin said, ‘I had the most terrible nightmare!’ So I just looked at him and said, ‘Why don’t you flip that and say ‘I have a dream!’’” LOL.

Bring back this please: “I can’t help but care about the rights of the people I used to shower with.” —Rep. Jack Kemp (R-NY) on why he saw no contradiction between running as a member of the GOP while living as a member of the NAACP. m.richmondfreepress.com/news/2025/nov/…

What’s the job of today’s activists? Get America to the 2070s with our democracy intact. American centuries follow hundred-year cycles. Within those cycles, every “‘20s” decade is a crucible of cruelty. Every “‘70s” brings bold rays of light breaking through. Read more below…
