It is official I will be the next boys head cross country coach at Southwest high school. I am excited but feel that I have much to learn. Thank you to my dear wife Jean Kubicki for letting me pursue a crazy dream. I never thought that this would really be possible.

Had a fun day today got to play on a pole. First time touching one in 30 years. Still have it, no practice just warm ups.

Definitely seems like an issue with the host limiting fans. Should not happen in championship XC and on a giant farm.

I ended up in the med tent. After passing out from pure exhaustion. I was over heated. Had a temp of 104 then it drop to 100.7. Almost got dunked in an ice bath. Got some IVs and rest. After about an hour they let me leave. The worst part is a gel got lost.

Well my first half went exactly as planed. Then the second half I wantes to push well it pushed me. If you watch closely in the video you see me with a blue visor on and looking like a drunk. Yep I gave it every thing I had.

@stentordoc I don’t mind hills for some reason I speed up on them. The only one that really got the best of me is the one in Chicago. Heart break I am passing people on it.

@benkrun There’s like 3-4 slow miles in NYC due to bridges and a long uphill on 5th avenue before entering Central Park. The rest of the course can be very fast. Depends on the wind, because the course runs predominantly north. You’ll love it

Fourth, and best, Chicago Marathon finish today in 2:39:47. I spent the majority of the morning wondering why I put myself through this. But sometimes, doing hard things just makes you feel ALIVE. That mile 26 feeling is 🤌🏼 🤌🏼🤌🏼 📸 cred @erinstevensmd

@stentordoc Well everyone told me that Boston is not a pr course (I have my fastest 2 marathons there). Then you said New York is not a pr course so it should be good for me. I’m feeling better then I did a few weeks ago.

@benkrun My 5k splits were pretty darn even too. Once my legs picked a pace, I just stuck with it! You feeling good for NYC?
