Kudos to @gonortheast for their app which allows me to buy a ticket to travel on the metro through my iPhone. Something that I can’t do with @My_Metro Pop Card. When you look through all the different options for tickets though it’s a very complicated picture. Hopefully something that will become easier with NECA. We need to make it simpler for people to travel across the region.

Received two emails today - one from France saying that electric bills are going down "to follow the global trend of falling energy prices". I received another from my UK supplier telling me that prices are going up "due to the global cost of energy". We're being taken for mugs

What a fab idea from North East mayor @KiMcGuinness for new Tyne ferry connecting Tynemouth to Newcastle. Would love to see this happen be great for tourism for the region. Especially if it was introduced alongside a simpler fare system for buses and metros.

@My_Metro looks like someone has been sick on the metro Wallsend metro 4009B. Perhaps somebody could clean when it terminates at Wallsend? Currently at Four Lane Ends.

@KiMcGuinness @My_Metro I would love to see - - staff given permission to tackle people travelling without a ticket. - working displays on the platform and by the ticket machines (so you can decide not to buy a ticket if the trains delayed). - popcard on IPhone and ability to top up.

The people of the North East deserve great public transport but many have contacted me to say this isn’t what they get on the Metro despite brilliant, hard working staff. I want to see a clear plan of action to improve performance and make sure @My_Metro is world class again.
