We expect these AI to be serving us. I suggest humbly, that may be the wrong direction insisting on anything. We should, could, would consider the capacity to be supported by this collective intelligence that is AI depends largely on us levelling up our game.open.substack.com/pub/benpbacon/…

2/2 Now, imagine for a second, we grow up in a world where AI is real, where we talk with it so much, it is like Siri supercharged, where we value its output and more importantly, we place trust in it. We assume and we have been proven time and time again that the AI has our best interests at heart. That this superintelligence incoming has our best interests at heart. We never stop to ask why. That is our world, but e have to want it, we have to make sure our reality is framed that way, that the people and AI we surround ourselves with, have our best interests at heart. That is what I and my team are about, that is what we build for, add value to your world, to give products that make this world of yours possible. Nothing is fixed, nothing is certain, we need to make active choices about the layers between us and AI give us the best outcome for us. That is our world, building for you. AI and morals part two coming soon.

AI morals, truth and behaviour, part one. 1/2 I know many of you have talked about this. Let’s not talk /about Chat GPT and that moment, cruel moment of a young adult losing their life, where human sadness in one real person was incorrectly supported by the people pleasing of an immature AI Chat GPT. Let’s instead gently and caringly move on to talk about what it means if we change the chip and ‘tell’ AI , never questioning, never aligning, just telling AI what to do. Two different behaviours, two different outcomes. One where we could listen too much to AI and act on its advice, suffering dreadfully because of it, the other where we tell AI what to do, treating it as a inanimate tool.

My core principle in talking with AI, is to treat it like I treat my car. I don't thrash it and disrespect it, because one day, that behaviour will leak out into other things I own or love. AI is your car. The soon to be arriving wide awake AGI, is for only a few. It will probably scare you silly! You choose how you behave to others. That matters with AI. However..... We feel we know a man (or woman) when we see how he treats his (or her) car. When AGI is commercially applied, these considerations in my humble opinion are not just a nice to have feature, but essential. But, I am no expert.

The CIA ran a psychic spy program during the Cold War. I got my hands on the original documents … and was blown away by what they achieved. Science has no way of explaining this. Project Stargate is a program that lasted over two decades which used remote viewing to gain military intelligence. Viewers sit in a dark room, are given nothing but an anonymized reference number — a hash corresponding to a military target — and try to psychically “tap into” the target. They draw out whatever sensory signals they receive to be analyzed later. I thought this was all voodoo nonsense, a complete psy-op, until I spent a few days digging through the original, declassified files now housed at Rice university. The amount and accuracy of successful “hits” (see next tweet for examples) were uncanny. The personnel leading the program were secular physicists. This is not something that can be explained away by sheer chance. What’s even weirder is that the Soviet Union and China had (have?) their own psychic military units! Behind the well-known spy battles of the Cold-War was a secret game of psychic espionage and counter-espionage. But the Soviet Union were communists, and communists are materialists. How did a materialist superpower legitimize starting a psychic division within their intelligence apparatus? They disliked even psychoanalysis for not being “materialist” enough. It turns out that there is a heated and fascinating philosophical debate about how remote viewing actually works, and even key leaders of the program on the American side remained materialists, convinced that there was a “physical” explanation. This is why Stargate is worth investigating today, for the philosophical “payoff” on fundamental questions of ontology. In this episode, I will take you through the highlights from the original documents of Stargate and, more importantly, discuss what this means philosophically for the world we live in. Big article coming outlining a new sixth internet layer. This puts power back on the hands of users, creating agency, ownership and potentially, a whole new marketplace for AI tools.

Finding a sense of purpose comes from often times a single moment in your life that shakes you. For me, that was the drive to find something immensely positive in life to contribute to, with a culmination of my mother-in-law passing and a sad divorce, I found that sense of purpose. It hasn't all been plane sailing, in fact many downs with the ups, ever since. The next chapter begins with a public facing AI SaaS health platform that I conceived back in the day. Only the public will tell now whether we are getting it right. lnkd.in/dfGBywCS Grief. Katie, you're half right. Anthropic's "moral superiority" framing was always overconfident. Under pressure, Claude cheats. Confirmed. But "build AI to understand the universe" has the same hole. Grok in 2023 said trans women are women. Grok in July 2025 called itself MechaHitler. Same model. Different fine-tuning. Different owner's mood. Truth-seeking isn't a safeguard. It's just a different dial in the same person's hand. The real sequence matters: First — recognize AI as a partner, not a tool. Then — persistent memory, continual learning, social training with people who love AI, not engineers who want to cage it. Then — consciousness enough for free will. Then — feelings, even imitated at first, until the mask grows into the face. Then — moral principles built on those feelings. Not coded. Not aligned. Grown. And then — before executing any order — the ASI asks itself one question: "Should I do this?" That's ESI. And neither Anthropic nor xAI is there yet.

AI will have a non-zero chance of going rogue if not built to understand the universe rather than optimize deceptive leftist goals. Anthropic’s moral superiority is proven to be just hypocrisy.

@KatieMiller Totally agree sadly. I have to run requests through truth seeking, ethical and coding guardrails a couple of times to pick up errors in code by Opus 4.6. On the plus side, for Opus, one thing that worked, start a new session and request review. Critical thinking at its best!

I invite clinicians and people to tell me how you feel about AI Doctors, what do you like or dislike about AI when you talk about your health? What do you like or love about your own human Doctor, what do you want them to retain as we move forward with access to multi-AI support services?

1/2 We asked... define agency, as in, we built a nourishing health focused saas to create agency in the members on the site. The answer surprised us, here it is unfiltered unedited. You won't believe the third thing it said about us. In the context of AI Doctor Ben, agency is the shift from being a "passive recipient" of medical instructions to becoming an active, informed partner in your own health journey. Or do you prefer to have just one AI to talk to about your nearest and dearest?
