@KentHighways @sewateruk You’ve closed the road from the 3rd April and have not done any work on it since then, knowing full well it would be bank holiday. Who makes these decisions!?

@Rory_Gribbell @SiobhanParker11 @grahamchatterl2 Please inform your inspectors of this. It seems that there is a magic threshold number that is some sort of secret. Judging schools by national averages when they do not have any where near national average context is quite frankly absurd.

@SiobhanParker11 @grahamchatterl2 Thanks Siobhan - I really appreciate that feedback. I think that point about transient pupil populations is a really powerful one. I know that’s exactly the sort of situation (as well as contextual factors) where we want to”typically” to allow some inspector judgement.

Relentless, resilient and together. This group of players and staff have worked tirelessly to achieve promotion in March. To the fans that have been behind us all the way, you deserve this. Up the Oysters 🦪🦪🦪🏆

@Yorkshire_Steve @MoreMorrow Throw in the selective system and it makes the whole thing laughable. Thanks for producing these, incredibly useful.

@MoreMorrow As someone said, prior attainment is like giving someone a 20m head start in a 100m race, using the same finish line and then telling them they are rubbish when they lose by a metre. Other contextual factors are akin to asking them to carry bags of shopping too!

"It's a HORRENDOUS decision... they've taken three seconds, it's an absolute DISGRACE!" 🤬 Jamie Redknapp couldn't BELIEVE this wasn't a penalty for Arsenal!

@Yorkshire_Steve @JohnBaldLangLit @Ofstednews Then it would be useful for transparency around the numbers for the expected threshold as there are large discrepancies between inspection teams for Attendance/Behaviour and Achievement.

This is not "interesting". It is poor inspection, resulting in contradictory judgements. But @Ofstednews does not have the skills required to inspect schools properly, and would probably not notice. Its business is policy, not education.
Yorkshire Steve@Yorkshire_Steve

Read a really interesting secondary report today. Attendance/behaviour and inclusion were strong. Everything else (inc curriculum and teaching) were expected other than achievement which needs attention.

@sciantificnew Essex has grammar schools alongside "comps." People drawing attention to this are criticised, as the grammars in some areas take only 5%. But in SE Essex, the proportion remains higher, esp Southend. Huge issues around Thurrock and Southend itself.

Question. Ofsted talk about accounting for context but do they take into account the lowest attaining group- white British PP? Comparing proportion of PP or levels or deprivation of the local community is only part of the story. You’ve also got to look at potential to improve.

@sciantificnew Lots of talk about understanding context but v little flexibility in the interpretation of the framework.

I’m not one for unilaterally attacking Ofsted. We need some kind of process. But in my experience the new framework doesn’t seem to do the things that they promised it would, such as really understanding context and not weighting outcomes heavily in decisions. Anyone else?

Have to give it to Tottenham. With their North London neighbours single handedly ruining football, Spurs are playing a brand of football that is really entertaining everyone.

To any young kid reading this… I’ve doubted myself in every league I’ve ever played in. Ryman Prem. Conference South. League Two. League One. Championship… And even right before my first Premier League start last night. That’s not weakness. That’s being human. That’s being alive. When I was growing up, I thought Premier League players were superhuman. Like they never felt doubt. Like they never felt nerves. The truth is…. it’s often the opposite. Social media won’t tell you that sometimes you step out there with no confidence. That’s normal. That’s ok! You now have to then step out there with courage. Confidence feels good. Courage doesn’t. But you do it anyway. Show courage enough times…. You build confidence. Here’s the mindset that’s carried me for 31 years. When it goes well: I worked for it. I earned it. Well done. Watch it back. Get better. When it doesn’t: I know I prepared the best I could. It didn’t go exactly to plan. That’s football. But Well done. Watch it back. Get better. That simple recipe gave me a special moment last night. Leading the team out. Playing alongside a group that fights for every ball. Celebrates tackles. Gives everything for the city of Sunderland. And sharing it with supporters who never gave up, even after four tough seasons in League One. So if you’re a young player feeling doubt… Low confidence… Or like you don’t believe in yourself… You’re not alone. Every player feels it. Confidence isn’t something you’re given. It’s something you build. Bit by bit. Day by day. With courage. With work. With learning. Anything worth building takes time. But that’s what makes it so worthwhile! Thank you @SunderlandAFC ❤️🤍

Consistently hoping Arsenal kick on after a good performance but never seems to happen. You’d think at some point they will need to go and win it rather than hoping that the title comes to them.
