I heavily prefer the idea of Zion to Ja, but what both names have in common is they are highly talented creators available for 20 cents on the dollar. To write off these ideas as "star chasing" akin to a Durant trade is just idiotic, they have nothing in common.

There's a really cool study (which I'll link in replies) that basically says that elite shotmaking is the art of compensated consistency
so guys like SGA or Durant aren't just "stationary" or "athletic" but are also masters of making tiny, subconscious adjustments to their body's rotation and jump peak so that the ball's trajectory remains identical, regardless of who is guarding them or where they are on the floor

nba shotmaking = reproducing a set of mechanics, there's a reason all the best MR scorers are either relatively stationary (embiid or durant in the midpost or nail) or have the athleticism for minute balance adjustments (pilgeous) while all are rarely in danger of being blocked.

- Not so hyper reliant on small ball lineups
- More athletic wings
- Get Book back in "SG Book" mode

I mean, a PG in theory would help. But it’s all about getting another high-level advantage creator.
My point is that the PG that everyone is remembering Book being elite next to no longer exists in the NBA.

As good as Booker is, he doesn’t have the strength/height to drive through the bodies he’s seeing consistently, and he doesn’t have the pull-up three to force those bodies to guard more space. Doesn’t help that Oso is nothing on O

I 100% agree with this. The front office turned him into a pass first role player who’s making $70 million a year. There’s making the right play & then there’s whatever Book’s been doing which is shying away from the moment & hoping your team wins games for you. That’s not a star
