La démarche d’enseignement explicite ou pédagogie structurée doit être effectuée efficacement en fonction de la vérification de la compréhension des élèves et non de façon mécanique sans vérification et rétroaction idinsight.org/fr/article/fid…

🦋🦗🐌Reading *Seven Myths about Education* by D. Christodoulou 🛑🏫The only reform capable of raising pupils’ standards is a fundamental transformation of teaching methods. 👀Paradox: the debate on education most often centres on organisations and resources. 💥These issues are important. BUT all successful systems have undergone a pedagogical revolution. ✌️It is simple: take into account the millions of research studies that establish facts about how pupils learn. 👉We too often disregard them in favour of APPARENT TRUTHS, DOGMAS and FALSE MORALITY. 🌡️It took forty years to stop pitting knowledge against skills. 🐝So-called ‘21st-century skills’ (problem-solving, creative thinking, critical thinking, communication and collaboration) are yet another attempt to pit knowledge against skills under the guise of modernist rhetoric. These fundamental skills are acquired on the basis of knowledge. And humans did not wait until the 21st century to develop a creative mind. 🌡️It took forty years to make people understand that thinking is, in fact, memory in disguise. 🐝The conventional wisdom: since knowledge is easily accessible via the internet, why bother learning? But quite simply because the structure of human thought is shaped by patterns of knowledge. 🐝Skills are hardly transferable at all. “It turned out that a considerable level of knowledge was an essential prerequisite for expertise.” (Larkin et al., 1980). 🐝“Intelligence boils down to the accumulation and refinement of many small units of knowledge, which, together, produce complex cognition. ” (Anderson, 1996). IT IS ESSENTIAL TO DELIVER KNOWLEDGE-RICH INSTRUCTION IF WE WANT PUPILS TO LEARN TO THINK, WHICH, INCIDENTALLY, CAN BE TAUGHT AND PRACTISED. 🌡️It took forty years for it to be accepted that discovery-based learning for novices was ineffective and inequitable. 🐝This is because a novice, who has no prior knowledge, does not learn in the same way as an expert who has developed very dense networks of knowledge. 🐝Project-based learning is far from effective for beginners. ALL OF THIS IS NOT A MATTER OF INSTITUTIONS BUT OF IDEAS. 🤜It is time to put an end to the hegemony of educational myths, whose sole purpose is to deny the evidence that contradicts them. 🤜It is time to reflect deeply on Jefferson’s words: “If a nation hopes to be ignorant and free in a state of civilisation, it hopes for what has never existed and never will.” UP AND GO!
