Nick Woltemade is so good, have no idea why Eddie Howe decided to sabotage his and his team’s season by not playing him.

@FIFABrit That pass goes to the player who’s onside who then cuts it back for Maeda. Can’t defend last week’s penalty though.

@nocontextfm1 Not at all, I can’t believe this is still even a topic. Give them a fine and move on.

@FOXSoccer The only way to try to get any meaning out of these rankings is by comparing players of the same position... I don't think even the most passionate of Barca or Liverpool fans would argue for Cubarsi and Konate over Saliba. I mean Saliba literally starts over him for France.

All day sports today! The Premier League is giving us a Monday morning game, as Chelsea take on Nottingham Forest. More soccer continues throughout the day, with Serie A, Premier League, and La Liga matches, as well as a potential title decider in the Scottish Premiership between Hearts and Rangers. As soon as the soccer ends, the rest begins. The Mets take on the Rockies, followed by 11 more MLB evening games. The Knicks host the 76ers and Spurs host the Timberwolves in the NBA playoffs, while the NHL playoffs continue with Flyers @ Hurricanes, and Ducks @ Golden Knights. A day full of soccer, baseball, basketball, and hockey!

Not having this discourse that the Premier League’s physical and mental exertions mean conservative football has to be a given when we’ve actually experienced the opposite. The style is absolutely a choice. Manchester City and Liverpool were involved in the most exacting, no-margin-for-error title races but still played ridiculously good football. Pochettino’s Tottenham were a marvel too. The 2018-19 Champions League was one for the ages: Tottenham 4-4 Man City quarter-final The Spurs 3-3 Ajax semi CORNER TAKEN QUICKLY in the most insane comeback What about the intensity of that LFC-MCFC quarter-final in 2017-18? And Liverpool beating Roma SEVEN! - SIX! in the semis. 2021-22: Chelsea 4-5 Real Madrid, Benfica 4-6 Liverpool, City 5-6 Real Madrid The list goes on. For so long it was held against both PSG and Bayern that they wilted when it mattered in the Champions League because their domestic seasons were a walkover. They didn’t have tough games to prime them. We can’t pick and choose narratives when it suits.

Think pieces on an all-timer game just to make some sort of Premier League supremacy point. Maybe the French and German leagues wouldn’t be so “dysfunctional” if Prem mid-table clubs didn’t spend in a summer what mid-table clubs in those countries spend in their lifetime.
Barney Ronay@barneyronay

Why was PSG-Bayern so good? Because they’re both star projects in dysfunctional leagues. A cool game in April is the only real point of their seasons irishtimes.com/sport/soccer/2…

@SeanDOlfc Crying laughing what’s a team with ‘Johnny cardoso’ doing in a champions league semi final. Absolute disgrace Barcelona let them through because hansi flick insists on having his defensive line on the half way line

Hansi Flick is a disgrace man. Any kind of basic level of defensive set up would’ve seen Barca beat these. It’s Alvarez and 10 players who could go to Turkey in the summer.

Hating on your own player by handpicking stats is so weird. Musiala in KO games that you left out: Goal against Denmark at Euro 24 Goal against Italy in Nations League quarters 8 goals and 1 assist in 14 cup games (all knockout games, obviously) Goal against Leverkusen in UCL last season Goal against Atalanta in UCL this season Assist against Real Madrid in UCL this season
.@FCBLuigi

Musialas KO legacy Villareal: 172 mins 0 G/A Costa Rica: 90 mins 0 G/A Man City: 141 mins 0 G/A Freiburg: 26 mins 0 G/A (pen given) Madrid: 174 mins 0 G/A Saarbrucken: 30 mins 0 G/A Spain: 120 mins 0 G/A Leverkusen: 90 mins 0 G/A PSG: 45 mins 0 G/A PSG: 79 mins 0 G/A
