People argued on my clay tile post that local materials are too heavy for large buildings. This is Eastgate Centre. Built in 1996 Harare, Zimbabwe. Brick and precast concrete. Still standing. The ventilation system mimics a termite mound; 48 brick chimneys on the roof extract hot air naturally. No conventional AC. The building breathes. Brick and clay roof tiles are made from the same material. The difference is just the form. Europe’s oldest buildings are masonry. America’s most iconic buildings are masonry. @matigary Many building owners may not possess technical expertise as it is outside their field. This building was approved, inspected, and all stage payments were accepted by the council, so why is the owner being held responsible?

It boggles the mind why Allen Shonhiwa put up a building which breaches the building line like this and why he keeps working on this building which is clearly hazardously located close to the road.

@TeeMyst That's the trick my guy - the eye has a natural flow (clockwise) or (left to right). Also the words are meant to be read as a whole from a distance, not as individual letters. I'm sure those who installed the screens aren't dumb 😅

@Outside92145154 @TeeMyst All about the Viewing angle. There's the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock. In your case it makes sense when viewing from above But here the viewer is below. It's counterintuitive I know that you read the last letters first, but the mind is just amazing-the eye has a natural flow

@beshine_bitso @TeeMyst Yes it's clockwise but, as we read left to right it's correct to say that sign should be going right to left so we can read into the word as each letter appears i.e W-E-L-C-O-M-E etc. @TeeMyst has a point.
