@JonComms current gen = bad current gen - 1 = misunderstood gem it makes a bit of sense though, a new game will be better in some ways than what came before and worse in others, and those things that are worse will be things you realize you initially took for granted in the last game

@dapperdog_ Most of the charm of X comes from doing the side content which is also a lesson I learned the hard way after hating my first play through on Wii U, where I just booked it to the end. I’d say taking the time to do side content makes the game feel much more alive

never got hooked on xenoblade x when i tried it back in march but i'm finally picking it up again at ch 3. part of me is wondering if im playing it "correctly" but for now i'm just running around doing quests and going to places that look cool so i think i'm doing something right

@SuperSavajin @Luxin_Xeno Depends on how you define Xenoblade fan. I’d wager just about everyone who self identifies as a Xenoblade fan has played XDE. But there’s also many people who just played 1DE/2/3 as fans of fantasy JRPGs and X just wouldn’t look appealing to that crowd

@Luxin_Xeno Good thread. When I'm crying about the sales it's not actually about the raw numbers. I couldn't care less. Xenoblade will always be niche. I just find it irritating that so many Xenoblade fans aren't even giving the game a shot. How did this happen AGAIN

I don’t think reports are a reason to doom about XDE sales (it’s mathematically possible for it to have outsold 3 and not show up there) what is one is how little engagement X fan media gets, I’ve seen it across all platforms and my own views have been in the gutter since launch

@Luxin_Xeno I think it’s fair to say that a ‘spinoff’ in an already niche franchise was never going to do millions. For all we know, Monolith/Nintendo might have expected these numbers and be perfectly happy with the sales data. They certainly didn’t expect it to outsell the trilogy.
