Beyond creating a council to set workplace regs, California’s #AB257 would make fast food corporations liable for wage theft and other violations in franchises. That would be a first-in-the-nation move on an unsettled question in American labor law: calmatters.org/california-div…

Pretty grateful for that story the Little Engine that Could because all week in my bead I’ve been like “I think I can I think I can” (make it to Friday). Really wow the power of positive thinking!

FYI it went well, but we shouldn’t have to put anyone through this much stress to preserve the roof over their kids heads

about to rep a client in a hearing who 1) lost her job, 2) submitted a covid declaration, 3) applied for rental assistance (which will pay back LL 100%) and she is STILL at risk of being evicted if the judge decides she wasn't acting as a "reasonably prudent person"

it's so maddening that landlords (who stand to get paid back 100% of what they are owed by rental assistance!!!) would rather refuse money and instead evict whole families. it's almost like market forces aren't logical or something!?!

It is important that you know evictions are still happening. Evictions have BEEN happening in the months since the federal moratorium was first enacted in September 2020. Many local judges *never* shut down eviction court. Over 150 scheduled in Jackson County, MO tomorrow.

Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh just voted to reinstate life without parole for children, but this man was CONFIRMED as a Supreme Court justice largely based on conservatives excusing him for his “youthful errors” and “youthful mistakes.” Absolutely ridiculous.
