People have trouble believing this, but in my private life, I don't have a political slant. I see politicians, parties as needing hard questions. (Not to say they are the same - or same questions.) My job is to bring light to key ideas - good + bad. Explain the complicated.

And I know how much I personally have paid attention to all voices. As our Trump reporter during 2 cycles, that esp. includes conservative and MAGA voices. I don't know a Republican on the Hill who believes I've covered them unfairly. (No I don't know them all, but many.)

I am someone who deeply values, no *loves*, our Jim-Lehrer common-sense Marine-Founder DNA. (I'm a Navy daughter.). Our Gwen-Ifill what-is-the-right-question-and-who-is-best-to-answer-it clear approach. And our Judy-Woodruff smart-thoughtful-good-human sense.
