F*CK RESILIENCE. THEY MUST PAY.

Cebu is drowning — not just in rain, but in greed. When developers strip our mountains bare and DENR looks away, floods become inevitable. It’s time to fight back. File a Writ of Kalikasan. Protect Cebu.

The silver lining to this is that with every disaster that comes, we get reminded of the egregious corruption that underlines these catastrophies. And it isn’t the kind of corruption that’s easy to shake off nor difficult to imagine, in fact it’s so close to the gut, felt on our everyday commute, and even more made visceral by images of ravaged communities and displaced families. Perhaps the notorious Filipino short-term memory has finally found its match.

I’m so mad and furious right now. Cebuanos prepared so well. We stocked up on the basics and daily necessities ahead of time. But because of these substandard flood control projects, we’re once again left in this devastating situation. Areas that were never prone to flooding are now underwater. People are still trying to recover from the earthquake, and now we’re facing this again. I truly admire the resilience of the Cebuanos, but this shouldn’t always be about resilience. We deserve accountability. Let’s make sure these corrupt officials are put behind bars. IKULONG ANG MGA KURAKOT! It’s been so long! RISA HAS NO RELATIVE IN GOVERNMENT; DECLARES ₱18.98M NET WORTH Senate Deputy Majority Leader Risa Hontiveros declared that she has no relatives serving in government as she released her 2024 Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) to the media. In copies of her SALN sent to Senate reporters on Monday, Hontiveros reported a total net worth of ₱18.98 million as of December 31, 2024. She listed ₱8.73 million worth of residential properties and ₱19.8 million in personal properties, along with ₱897,840 in liabilities from a car loan. The senator also declared business interests in Planet Dive Inc., the New Rural Bank of San Leonardo (Nueva Ecija), Inc., and La Luna Corp.
