@Miggysbat He didn’t even frame it.. the fact he didn’t think that was a strike at all is mind blowing for a mlb catcher. This should revoke his right to catch

Hindsight is definitely 20-20, but Jake Rogers really should’ve challenged this 3-2 pitch. It’s worth the gamble in that situation even if you’re wrong, and would’ve changed the entire inning.

@TigersJUK You misspelled expected or not surprising. If you thought things would look different (other than Valdez and his impact) you need to slowly put down the orange kool-aid. Bad hitters and coin flip pitchers don't just turn into hall of famers over the off seasons.

@Miggysbat Agree, drop him to probably 5 or lower. Torres, Keith (if we must), Dingler....Dingler, Torres and McGonigle (who will cool off) are the only professional approach hitters on the roster. How about his insistence that Rogers is a MLB catcher...would much rather see Nido up here.

I think A.J. Hinch is a great manager, but I do not understand the insistence on trying to make Kerry Carpenter a leadoff hitter.

@cmccosky I would have rather you said they were explicitly told to not challenge. This message confirms that some of them have no idea what their zone is, especially Torkelson, whose challenge last night would have easily been won.

Just for the record, the Tigers haven't been coached or encouraged or told not to challenge. That's ridiculous. Hinch encouraged them to trust their knowledge of the zone and be smartly aggressive with it.

Spencer Torkelson opted not to challenge on that 3-2 pitch. It was outside the zone. Runners stranded at the corners. Those are tough decisions to make early in the game. But that one was two balls out of the zone, per the statcast box

@TalkinBaseball_ I love that every take he's tracking all the way to the catcher's glove too. Biggest cheerleader is the guy he's bailing out, Carpenter, who has started horribly with like a 40% K rate as the leadoff guy.

@BBGreatMoments I wasn't impressed with Camden. Hot as hell and zero air circulation somehow (in an outdoor stadium). Wrigley's concessions making you build your own Chicago Dog in an overcrowded concourse was one of the dumbest things I've experienced at a ballpark.
