@JakeAsman Guys always injured we’ll see if he stays healthy oline was just fine without him can get another Guard
English

@JakeAsman @BrianCoz @nypostsports Good riddance the saleh jets were some of the most unlikable players to root for they never won and blame everyone else but themselves
English

Interesting note from @BrianCoz on the @nypostsports Free Agency Stream: Alijah Vera-Tucker reportedly “doesn’t want” to remain with the Jets and is seeking a “new place to play” elsewhere.

Jaylen Brown:
“That boy Wemby is a problem… When I say I’m the best two-way player in the league, it’s not counting Wemby. He’s not even human. I’m the best human player.”

@IanBegley BT and Sal had it right Mike Clown, this organization deserves everything it gets, after firing Thibs

@nyjets Unfortunately we will have to wait for 2027 Glenn seems like a dead man walking
English

@RobbySabo @jetsxfactor Still think, Talent wins but you can’t have a crappy coach would say it’s 60 40 talent to coaching
English

Gonna post this one to see if anybody else has an opinion, but these are my general thoughts on the coaching vs. talent value-to-team ratio…
Today: 65% coaching, 35% talent
~2010: 55% talent, 45% coaching
~1990: 65% talent, 35% coaching
~1977: 75% talent, 25% coaching
Today, with the player safety rules (lack of physicality and ease with which passes can be completed), technology, and hard salary cap that spreads the talent so evenly across the league, I’m 100% certain that coaching is more valuable. To what degree, is my only question? Naturally, the NFL doesn’t want that narrative out there bc it’s bad for business. The players are what sells the game (never the coaches).
In 2010, pre-2012 CBA, talent still had the edge.
In 1990, pre-salary cap, talent dominated. Look no further than Jimmy Johnson’s NFL takeover in Dallas, and just how consistent those dominant NFC teams were in the 1980s.
1977 and prior (before the Mel Blount rule), talent dominated coaching to an even stronger degree). 1978 paved the way for Bill Walsh to guide Joe Montana and others to get the 3-step game going (revolutionary coaching stuff that came from a major rule change). Sound familiar? Only these days, it’s on steroids (the changes to the game).

@RobbySabo Vrabel's plan was correct and still failed. Talent > Coaching

@Jetting_Up Joe Douglas will have to live that decision, Darnold needed a lot of time to develop, hiring Gase over McCarthy was the end of Darnold’s career with Jets
English

@JCaporoso He also said Mougey is telling people not to work for the Jets this team is toxic, woody needs to sell
English

@JCaporoso @BadlandsTOJ Unfortunately this regime is toast and it won’t matter who they sign in FA pick in draft it will never work until Woody Johnson sells because he sucks a picking people
English

My quick DUKER takes before our pods hit today/tonight @BadlandsTOJ #Jets
1 - I am not going to act like I knew a ton about him prior to a few days ago but the resume and previous experience with Glenn tracks (and Dolphins defense played well down the stretch last year)...however, makes me wonder why he wasn't in the first batch of 8 interviews.
2 - He is (very) young and if they are going young with Glenn calling the plays, I think it is better they went outside the organization vs just rolling over Harris., If you are turning over the staff, turn it over and bring in as many outside voices as possible.
3 - If they are paying big money for only one very veteran assistant, it should be on the offensive side of the football (Reich?) vs using it n Wink when you already have Glenn here.
4 - I agree with the wider sentiment that Anzalone is going to be your day one FA signing and the #Jets are going to be more aggressive trying to pick from Detroit's roster.. Yes, he is old but the #Jets badly need a floor player to replace Quincy (who was terrible this year) and help stabilize Sherwood
English

@Willpa11 @BadlandsTOJ I’m sorry this looks like a HC that has no clue what he is doing hopefully I’m proven wrong
English

I don’t hate this hire if I’m honest… young guy… something fresh… likely AG calling plays but at least both guys have a similar philosophy and should be a good uptick in DB play specifically at Safety which has been a large issue for the Jets
Will Parkinson@Willpa11
Jets have their DC Glenn and Duker worked together in Detroit before Duker spent time with Anthony Weaver in Miami
English

Jets have their DC
Glenn and Duker worked together in Detroit before Duker spent time with Anthony Weaver in Miami
Tom Pelissero@TomPelissero
The Jets are hiring Brian Duker as their defensive coordinator, per sources. Duker, 36, most recently was the Dolphins’ pass game coordinator/secondary. He’s close with Aaron Glenn from their days with the Lions and now reunites with him in New York.
English

Duker didn't interview until yesterday (virtually). He was the 9th known candidate to interview for the job.
Rich Cimini@RichCimini
The Jets are hiring former Dolphins assistant Brian Duker as their new defensive coordinator, source confirms (as @TomPelissero said). He's only 36. Spent three seasons in Detroit with Aaron Glenn. #Jets
English

@nyjetshistory @jetsorioles the hiring of Gase is the reason the Jets are in this dumpster fire Glenn looks real bad hopefully the ship gets righted Douglas is gone so this all on Glenn and Mougey now
English

@jetsorioles He certainly made mistakes but he put together a playoff caliber roster in 2015 and made these two picks.
Hiring Gase which led to Douglas really set the franchise back a decade
