Her father passed away when she was 4 .. he was a police officer. She took her father’s uniform and made it into her dress. This is very creative, love it❤️

@skiistiredasf This is utterly brilliant. I'll bet her father would have been so proud of what she's done.

She heard there was a street fair and immediately took command. All units be advised — she will be napping at 1500 hours if you need her.

On April 25, 2026, Police Officer John Bartholomew of the Chicago Police Department was shot and killed in the line of duty. He was guarding a robbery suspect at Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital with another officer, when the suspect produced a firearm and began shooting. Officer Bartholomew's injuries proved fatal and the second officer is still fighting for his life. Our hearts are with the Bartholomew family, the Chicago Police Department, our brothers and sisters at Brotherhood for the Fallen Chicago, and the entire city of Chicago as they mourn the loss of another hero. From The Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP): Police Officer John Bartholomew was shot and killed by a robbery suspect at Chicago's Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital at approximately 10:50 a.m. Around 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning, Officer Bartholomew and another officer transported a suspect accused of robbing a Family Dollar store, in Albany Park, to the Swedish hospital for observation. While the suspect was being prepped for a CT scan just after noon, he produced a gun and fired, striking both officers. The officers were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where Officer Bartholomew was pronounced later that afternoon; the second officer suffered severe injuries. The suspect, who was already on parole and escaped an electronic monitoring system, fled the hospital scene but was apprehended shortly afterward. He is charged with murder, attemped murder, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated battery. Officer Bartholomew had served with the Chicago Police Department for 10 years, assigned to the Albany Park (17th) District.

@NYCEMSwatch @NYCCouncil Maybe folks will stop abusing the EMS system. Too many people are calling 911 for issues that should be handled by primary care physicians.

On April 19, 2026 Deputy Sheriff Thomas LeMay of the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office was shot and killed in the line of duty. He and Chief Andy Thompson of the Wister Police Department had responded to a wellness check at a home on US Highway 270. When they arrived the came under fire, with both officers being struck. Tonight we pray for the family of Deputy LeMay, his friends, and his colleagues at the Sheriff's Office. We wish a full and speed recovery for Chief Thompson. Both of these men are heroes.

The last 48 hours have been horrific for law enforcement… We have seen 5 officers shot, one of those brutally murdered (LeFlore County Deputy) and another is in critical condition. The 3 latest shootings are from: Ashland (NH) PD Officer Anderson County (SC) deputy Springfield (SC) Police Chief Please keep all the brave men and women of law enforcement in your thoughts and prayers as the War on Cops continues unabated. This is an embarrassment to our country, and a stain on our society…enough!

Today we pause to honor Patrolman Leroy Sheares who died on this day in 1936 from injuries sustained in the line of duty days earlier. We will never forget the incredible sacrifice that Patrolman Sheares made ninety years ago; a sacrifice made while protecting others. Fidelis Ad Mortem From The Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP): Patrolman Leroy J. Sheares was stabbed to death in an apartment at 34 West 136th Street while investigating and attempting to arrest a man for child rape. He was off duty. The suspect stabbed him in the arm, chest, and abdomen. Patrolman Sheares was transported to Harlem Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds two days later. His attacker was sentenced to 7 to 14 years in Sing Sing Prison for manslaughter in the first degree. Patrolman Sheares served with the New York City Police Department for three years and was assigned to the 32nd Precinct. He was survived by his wife and young son.

On April 14, 1972, officers from the 28th Precinct responded to a 10-13 (officer needs assistance) at 102 West 116th Street in Harlem. The location was home to the Nation of Islam Mosque No. 7. This proved to be a deadly trap for the officers as they were viciously attacked by members of the mosque. Patrolman Phillip Cardillo was shot at point blank range in the melee. For six long days, Patrolman Cardillo lay in a hospital bed, fighting for his life, until April 20, 1972 when the wounds proved fatal. Those days in 1972, may be one of our department's darkest chapters; not only because of Cardillo's murder but also the absolute failure of leadership that followed. We continue to proclaim, as his brothers in blue did back in 1972, "REMEMBER CARDILLO." #RememberCardillo #FidelisAdMortem #CircleOfSix
