Your life partner is literally the only person you get to choose. Your parents didn’t get to pick you or vice versa. Your friend circle is a function of the PIN code you live in. Your kids might turn out completely useless and you won’t be able to do a thing. It’s wild to me that so many people let their families dictate what is likely the only decision where you truly have agency.
