Heartbreaking 💔 Yesterday I saw a UG student, who commented that the “Brazier book” (Medicine patients and the law, co-authored with Cave and Heywood) was the only text book they had enjoyed reading in 3 years of studying law!

Been seeing this book everywhere will in the US - bookstores, coffee shops, and on the news. Finally got a copy and started - vital work. So much to consider, but two things stand out: - Encourage more play in schools. - Design and zone public space with children in mind.

Unfortunately I’m one of those people with both Crohn’s Disease and AS. I was diagnosed with AS in 2019, and Crohn’s in 2023. It is extremely challenging juggling two chronic illnesses with life, a young family (three children 2 and under), and a career, but I try my best 🙏

How terrible. What sort of ideas would they have about student accents then? Poor, poor, the poorest of leadership.

I always see people say it’s a good idea to take a break after your PhD and I would LOVE to. However, I can’t help but think this is a little bit of a privileged take. Who’s going to pay my rent when I’m on this break? Genuine question

Transcribing and someone’s said “life-work balance” instead of the typical “work-life balance” and it’s profound how simple word placement can change a whole concept. Geeky PhD thoughts. That’s why we do what we do!
