@Chris_M_Cousins Understand the legal issues are complex here, but if I were a Missouri resident/taxpayer (I am not), I think I would be on the phone to my elected representatives asking If this roster supports the mission of higher public education in the state.

🇺🇸⚽️The Missouri State Roster Isn’t the Real Problem
I work in this space every day, so I wanted to add some proper context to the Missouri State conversation because it’s getting heated fast and a lot of nuance is being missed.
For anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, people recently looked through the Missouri State University men’s soccer roster and realized there are zero American players listed. Missouri State didn’t announce this as some statement or policy. It was simply noticed once the roster was published. As far as we know, this is the first time a Division I men’s program has had no Americans on the roster, which is why it’s sparked such a strong reaction.
And to be clear, I completely understand why people are frustrated. College soccer in the US has traditionally been seen as part of the American soccer ecosystem. When you see a roster with no Americans, it feels like something has gone badly wrong.
Where I think the conversation starts to lose its footing is when people jump straight to nationality quotas or percentage rules. Suggestions like “every roster should be 65 percent American” sound straightforward, but in reality they are legally and practically unworkable.
Limits on internationals will almost certainly never happen in US college soccer. It’s a lawsuit goldmine. Telling a student they can’t play purely because of their nationality is discrimination, especially at public universities. This has already been tested. The NJCAA tried to introduce limits on international players around 8 to 10 years ago and quickly had to reverse course after legal challenges. Once a student is legally admitted, eligible, and paying tuition, blocking them from competing because of their passport does not hold up.
That’s why the NCAA has always avoided nationality based roster rules. Instead, they regulate eligibility clocks, scholarships, transfers, and roster sizes, because those rules apply to everyone equally and are far safer legally.
So while the Missouri State roster is shocking, it’s important to understand that no rules were broken. The staff recruited within the system that exists, and that system rewards winning, experience, and immediate impact.
Which brings me to the part people don’t really want to talk about.
This isn’t actually an international player problem. It’s a development problem.
For years, college coaches have been able to recruit older, more physically mature, more tactically experienced players from overseas. That tells us something about the global market, but it also tells us something about how American players are being developed and prepared for the college game.
The good news is that I genuinely think the US is moving in the right direction.
College soccer is no longer the primary pathway to the professional game. It’s now a secondary pathway. MLS academies, professional youth environments, and earlier integration into pro setups are now the main development routes. College is still valuable, but it is no longer central to the long term national team development plan.
And that’s really the key point here. The goal is to make the US national teams better. College soccer simply isn’t the main producer anymore, so expecting it to function like one doesn’t reflect the modern landscape.
I agree there are a lot of changes needed in NCAA men’s soccer. I just don’t see nationality limits ever being one of them. The fix isn’t blocking internationals. The fix is continuing to raise the level of domestic development so American players naturally win those roster spots again.

ICE has a quota system. That’s why agents are pulling people off the streets regardless of whether they’re a US citizen, five year old child, freezing elderly man, local police officer, etc. Those masked, unidentified agents get credit for each person they throw into the van.
It’s a become a lawless bounty hunter agency that operates beyond the law. It should be disbanded and Noem should be impeached.

The Sheriff in Cumberland County in Maine said that ICE took one of their black Corrections recruits that’s a U.S citizen & you can & him telling them who he is and where his ID his & they piled on him instead! They all need to be arrested! Now everyone is seeing what’s happening

🏆 STATE CHAMPIONS.
What. A. Game.
After tying it up with just 1:30 left in regulation, battling through two overtimes, and grinding through a dramatic PK shootout, the @NNHuskiesoccer boys are your @IHSA_IL State Champions!
Every player stepped up in an incredible team victory — capped off by Eddie Zoeller’s game-winning penalty to lift the Huskies past a tough St. Laurence squad.
A storybook finish for a program built on the foundation of Sine Labore Nihil — nothing without work.
