If you come to the USA and ask for biscuits, you do not get a cookie. That is because it means something different here. The fact that Brits keep trying to correct me when I say soccer is so stupid. That is what it is called here. If I say soccer ( the name was invented and used in the uk up until the 70s and 80s) everyone knows what I mean. If I say soccer”football,” it means something else here and causes confusion. Why is it such a thing for you to keep correcting people who say “soccer?” Is it because of some kind of inferiority complex? The top “football” tv show in the UK for years was literally called “soccer am.”

@bigrubbernose They are wearing pads and helmets because in the early days of football there were too many fatalities. There has been only one rugby player who has been a meaningful player in the NFL. Many have tried and couldn’t cut it. The Aussie guys make decent punters. That’s about it.

This is what I’m learning about international soccer fans. They have never played, nor actually watched the most violent team sport with the best athletes bar none anywhere in the world, American Football 🏈. Clueless.

Disgraceful officiating. England’s goal should have been ruled out after the ball struck the spider cam above the stadium, while Norway’s goal was wrongly disallowed. FIFA is corrupt to the core, and England’s players seem willing to use every trick in the book to win. “Gentlemen” is the last word anyone should use to describe this team.

The World Cup is great But fuck FIFA. One of the worst governing agencies I’ve ever seen in any arena of sport or business. The reversal of Balogun’s red card and the call against Embolo are two of the worst officiating calls I’ve seen in any sport, ever.

Right players can kick a penalty from further out and with more accuracy than an NFL field goal guy who only ever has to kick in a straight line. Rugby isn't a great sport but NFL is just so dull and slow

@bigrubbernose @Tibo50941448 I played soccer for years, watch it all the time and also played football 🏈 and watch it all the time. Soccer is not even close to football. While I really like the game, they are light years apart in terms of athleticism, grit, physical strength, mindset, etc.
