New York City lost 5,000 businesses last year and created only 27,000 jobs— compared to roughly 190,000 jobs annually in the prior four years. That's not acceptable. A strong economy is how we fund affordable housing, child care, and everything New Yorkers need.

@SpeakerMenin This is more about jobs than losing businesses. I know sounds off but bussinesses open and close everyday in NYC. What yoir seeing is people hiring less to make ends meet. I work with retailers I dont see any impact on the retail landscape. Late 90's wr worse as rents quadrupled

Then add in the accessibility of information etc..they simply didnt need to be in NYC anymore and downsized before Kathy.
