@RaCSGO @fanocsgo The anticheat will always be a cat and mouse game. Better AC = more advanced cheats. But why disable overwatch? I know there were some abuses with report botting, but letting the community vote was cs:go's most effective AC, and they just killed it with no explanation

First and foremost we need a better anti-cheat, and in general we need the game itself to be as good as it possibly can be. You don’t want people just logging in to gamble on “fresh skins” and then logging straight back out. That just turns CS into a money printer. Skins only have real value when people actually want to play the game. No players = demand for skins falls off a cliff. Right now we’ve been spoiled with new skins while the playerbase is declining (or at best completely stale). This is not the time to double down on the money printer. We need more players. We need a healthy competitive scene. We need people excited to actually play the game. Valve has been on a hot streak with good updates lately & that’s exactly what we need more of. I’m not saying we should never get new skins again, but we’ve definitely been spoiled lately. More skins right now won’t help CS2 long-term… it’ll just turn it to a short-term cash machine.

This might be a hot take, but I feel like the last thing we need right now is even more new skins

Not a fan of this move. I know they've done the same with previous new maps, but legendary counter strike moments deserve to be idolized forever, they're a big part of what adds to the game's lore

@MEtHODiOR I think you're throwing around the word "scam" without understanding what it means. The norm has always hovered around 90% +/- 5%. If I buy skins from someone and I offer 70-80%, that doesnt make it a scam. Lowball maybe.

I'm really tired of seeing certain big-name traders in the CS skins community, who built their reputation as legit, quietly scamming and sharking regular players. They do it subtly -- offering only 85-90% of Buff/YouPin value in DMs, or pricing trash items at absurd amounts like 500k for something worth 1k max. Because they have a big following and a "trusted" name, people stay silent while normal traders get ripped off left and right. If this doesn't stop, I will start calling them out publicly. A big name doesn't give anyone the right to scam.

@MEtHODiOR A scam by definition involves you tricking someone for financial gain. If I tell you from the start I'm buying for 70%, if you dont like my rates dont buy, find someone else. I've never cash traded nor am I interested

I am saying this here and now... IF Cache replaces Overpass next week, I will quit CS forever / for at least a good while. Or until we get Vertigo or something back, I only enjoy playing Overpass and Nuke (meanwhile they won't get picked in Faceit / Prem anyways)

@hobshy the golden era was pre-buff opskins era before all the "investors" came in and bought 100s of the same skin. Now that reds are trade-up-able, they will track with whatever their outcome value is. Long live the collectors.

@keks_neon Spoiler alert, csfloat and other western sites in many cases do report your sales to local tax authorities.
