@adamboxer1 Great question. More of a “blank canvas” approach to my maths teaching. Whilst my economics teaching has shifted towards more explicit teaching of the content - which for some reason wasn’t seen as the thing to do with A-Level before. Either could work!

@adamboxer1 In my first year of teaching I was playing a lot of Stormzy to a particular class to get them to like me and complete their maths work. It did not end well. I then discovered @tombennett71 , changed my life.

Attempting to fix behaviour by getting kids to like you is A. Not limited to younger teachers B. Logical sounding on the face of it C. Even more logical sounding given the consistency of "relationships are crucial to good behaviour" messaging D. Actually a waste of time

Teachers are getting a well-deserved pay rise. The Conservatives left the profession overstretched and undervalued. We said we’d change that, and we meant it.

That's my list for the evening. It isn't exhaustive, and of course each item would need to be fleshed out. I imagine there are fatal flaws in each of them but they are the ones that occur to me.

If I were Labour Shadow Ed Sec, these are the policies I would start working on now: 1. End charitable status for independent schools. Tax fees like anything else, having subtracted the per pupil funding in that LA.

Today starts the Vuelta Asturias, the scene of an all-time battle between Raul Alarcon and Quintana in 2017. Quintana could not drop Alarcon on the only MTF, but puts 30s into prime Pinot and Dumoulin 2 weeks later in the Giro. CAS rejected Alarcon’s appeal a few months ago

Cannot wait for Notts Forest v Leicester City in the FA Cup. I vividly remember covering their Championship fixture in 2013 for the Leicester Mercury when Anthony Knockaert scored an injury time winner, the Foxes faithful went nuts and I upset a steward. Good times 🦊
