@markofbattersea My thoughts exactly. His version of the English language is foreign to me.

@TEAM_USA__ Watched an interview with this guy the other day. Which language does he speak? I heard some English words but most were unidentifiable. And is “border czar” an official government title?

Tom Homan RIPS the media a new one, critisizing them for not accurately reporting on the work ICE is doing to remove national security threats from the homeland.

Thanks Brian - I have a passion for documenting and preserving Australian sport history as it tells us why sport plays an important role in society - this is recognition for all those working in this field
Brian Roe@Doctor_Roe

Congratulations to @gregblood who is now Greg Blood OAM - rightly recognised in the Australia Day Honours list for all he’s doing to preserve the intricacies of Australia’s sporting history

So saddened to learn of the passing of #MikeColman One of the great story tellers of sport. Shared his company on only a couple of occasions but they were memorable. Raconteur, columnist and funny guy. RIP

@7Cricket Question. How many of the world’s cricket grounds have “hallowed turf”? Who does the hallowing?

@V8Goss Probably all of the above. The absolutely dismal level of standard pretty much all around us does cause me some despair. But not as much as the general acceptance and even defence of it.

@terryrbarca1 Yes, looking at the Boomers “failure” through the prism of Germany’s gold places Australia at an entirely different level.

#boomers Germany's gold medal at the Fiba World Cup puts the Boomer's campaign into clearer focus. For all the 'experts' who wanted to sack everybody - not feeling quite so clever now, are we? Germany didn't drop a single game, and the Boomers came within 3 points of them.

For those lovely peeps asking why my radio silence over the past couple wks. Well… very sadly my American Dad died & last week I was in SF with the family & for the funeral. So devastatingly sad 😢 He was an amazing/incredible man. An absolute force in my life. Now back to work

No, didn't get up on the wrong side of the bed or feeling especially grumpy. Really enjoyed the @NBL 2023 but why are we losing our Aussie identity? bit.ly/3yPAsg1

@BoyceTim @DanielleWarby Most players are beaten. Only seeded players are “bundled out”. My solution- revoke the visas of known bundlers.

@DanielleWarby 1. ‘It’s just a game’ - crap, it’s their profession 2. ‘Bundled out’ - can’t tennis players just be beaten?

@DanielleWarby Backflip. Ridiculous sports metaphor for a decision change. A backflipper lands with his/her feet pointed in an unchanged direction.

@ZoeWundenberg @NBL @WNBL @BasketballAus Re “top of the heap”. Australia is number 3 of 213 countries in FIBA world rankings ,men and women. Is there another sport in this country that comes close? Something’s working.

@bikpella @NBL @WNBL @BasketballAus We are 12th according to ESPN. 13th incl the NBA. Greece’s league is ahead of ours in ranking. We’re not top of anything. Yet again, I do not dispute the place of the free market. I want us (Aus) to work harder to be competitive to the players IN that market.

The free market operates in the sporting sphere too. Included in that encouragement from BA is a pathway to the NBA and WNBA. It’s a system that has Australia at the top of the heap in one of the world’s two biggest team sports. @NBL @WNBL @BasketballAus
Zoë Wundenberg@ZoeWundenberg

@bikpella (I should also add that I don't choose the headlines and I never would have chosen this! I am a huge basketball fan & I love the work that Basketball Australia have done to encourage lifelong participation from Aussie Hoops up.)
