Pages of the Glorious Qur'ān today, Tuesday 31/3/26, Sūrah al-Baqarah (2): 94-105, tafakkur verse 2: 96 Theme: The Illusion of Longevity and the Reality of Accountability {وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمۡ أَحۡرَصَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَیَوٰةࣲ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَشۡرَكُوا۟ۚ یَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمۡ لَوۡ یُعَمَّرُ أَلۡفَ سَنَةࣲ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحۡزِحِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ أَن یُعَمَّرَۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِیرُۢ بِمَا یَعۡمَلُونَ} "And you will surely find them the most greedy of people for life - [even] more than those who associate others with Allāh. One of them wishes that he could be granted life a thousand years, but it would not remove him in the least from the [coming] punishment that he should be granted life. And Allāh is Seeing of what they do". LESSONS; 1. Excessive Attachment to Worldly Life Corrupts the Soul The verse exposes a deep human weakness, ḥubb al-dunyā (love of the world). When a person becomes excessively attached to life, survival becomes more important than righteousness. Such a mindset leads to moral compromise, injustice, and fear of death. 2. Longevity Without Righteousness Is Meaningless Wishing to live a thousand years reflects a misunderstanding of life’s purpose. Life is not measured by length but by value and righteousness. A long life devoid of obedience to Allah only increases one’s burden of accountability. 3. Fear of Death Often Reflects Weak Īmān The intense desire to avoid death suggests a lack of preparation for the Hereafter. The believer, in contrast, lives with hope and readiness, knowing that death is a transition, not annihilation. 4. Accountability Is Inevitable The verse makes it clear: no amount of extended life can delay or remove punishment. This is a powerful reminder that time does not erase consequences, only repentance and righteous deeds do. 5. Allah’s Perfect Awareness Demands Sincerity The ending, “And Allah is Seeing of what they do”, anchors everything in divine surveillance. It teaches that: 🔸Nothing escapes Allah’s knowledge 🔸Hidden intentions are exposed 🔸Justice is inevitable This should cultivate taqwā (God-consciousness) and sincerity in all actions. This verse dismantles the illusion that more time equals more safety, reminding us instead that true success lies in how we live, not how long we live.

🚨Famous actor Jackie Chan spoke about a video he watched of a Palestinian child who said they don’t grow up, because “the Israeli army could kill them at any moment.” In the two attached videos, one shows Jackie Chan describing the moment he broke down in tears, and the other shows the Palestinian child whose words moved him so deeply.

@shamseddinGiwa That man needs to be schooled!Sadly, the value of ‘Self Knowledge&Validation’ isn’t given enough attention. Once there’s that void, you’d always seek it externally, even in the most degrading ways! Beauty starts from within.”No one can make you feel inferior without your consent”!

It’s wrong for your husband to keep talking you down as that will diminish your sense of self worth. It will crush you and make you think very low of yourself. Ironically, this makes it easier for the compliments or nice treatment of others to make you feel very excited. That excitement in your case has led to an affair with a married man. ————- Breaking up with him will not be easy because he makes you feel good and your husband doesn’t. Even when you try, you’d still go back home to him talking you down when someone just expressed how beautiful you are somewhere. Now, just because this man addresses you in a more loving manner doesn’t mean he’s right for you. First, you are married! I imagine with children. The issues in your marriage should be addressed and if you reach a point you no longer desire the marriage, you can leave it. Now, even if you leave your marriage, is this man willing to marry you? On one end he’s treating you good but a man that consciously keeps you in an affair knowing you are married and while he is married, is not a man that can be trusted to treat you good all the way. Beyond that, it means you as a married woman, are now the one his wife at home will be worried about. ———- Breaking off an affair is not easy but it can be done. You need to disconnect completely from him but you also need to work on your marriage so you have something worthy to go back to. You also need immediate professional help because there’d be times you’d feel like going back, you need support during this period. Finally, please begin this immediately because the story will change if your husband discovers. Let’s get you started.

Allāhumma’ghfir lī dhanbī kullahu, diqqahu wa jillahu, wa awwalahu wa ākhirahu wa `alāniyyatahu wa sirrahu. O Allah, forgive me all my sins, great and small, the first and the last, those that are apparent and those that are hidden.

Allah named Himself Al-Tawwab, the One who turns toward His servant, before the servant even decided to turn. You did not find the door. He opened it toward you. Ibn Al-Qayyim said the one who truly knows Allah does not hesitate at repentance. He runs to it. The One waiting is not a judge tallying failures. He is a Lord who made forgiveness His own attribute before creation began. Your sins are not the obstacle. Your delay is.

Choosing forgiveness doesn’t mean people didn’t hurt you, it means you refuse to let that hurt control your heart or steal your peace. It takes maturity, self-awareness, and quiet courage to live like that.
