Copilot: Can you find any criticisms of Trump over the last two years from Allie Beth Stuckey? Short answer: There is no documented instance in the last two years of Allie Beth Stuckey issuing substantive criticism of Donald Trump himself. Nothing in the search results shows her calling him wrong, immoral, unwise, unfit, irresponsible, divisive, or unchristian. Nothing shows her challenging his rhetoric, behavior, or associations.

Some people angry at me in my replies for “defending” Trump have only in the last few months left the Trump Can Do No Wrong Club— a club I’ve never been a part of. I have been extremely consistent in my critique of Trump for 10 years: He’s better than the Democrat alternative, but he says and does things I don’t like. I wish he would have more self-control and discernment. I pray for him to turn to Christ and the wisdom that comes from that to infuse his speech and actions. I am also very thankful for how the Lord has used him to push policies that are good, right, and true. While I’ve never supported him in a primary, I remain so grateful he won and Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton did not. For me, Trump isn’t strong enough on life and marriage. I think his selection of Paula White is a dangerous error. I’ve articulated these things many times. This is a big reason I have never been considered “MAGA,” though I have voted for him 3 times and have encouraged others to do so. It’s interesting that some of those who have recently renounced their unconditional sycophancy of Trump have never joined me in opposing Trump on issues like taxpayer-funded IVF. Maybe that will change now? We will see. Yeah, I do think Trump is Trump and almost 80 and thus it’s quite possible he quickly posted a meme someone sent him without seeing its clear (to us) his Jesus imagery. That doesn’t make it right. But his excuse is plausible. Won’t apologize for that
Allie Beth Stuckey@conservmillen

I do believe that he didn’t think of this as a depiction of Jesus when posting. Still, there has to be more care and discernment here.

It seems plausible that Trump posted that image thinking it was him portrayed as a doctor. Or even as some sort of spiritual healer but not knowing how strongly it implied he was Jesus. It doesn’t take away from the blasphemous nature of the image. And I don’t say this to say, “Nothing to see here folks.” Why is it plausible? Because I think Trump has a shallow understanding of Christianity. Remember when he said “Two Corinthians” instead of “Second Corinthians” when citing his favorite verse? As I recall it was prior to this that Trump was asked for a favorite verse and didn’t have one to state off the top of his head. Then, it seems to me, this was embarrassing and he tried to rectify it when someone sent him a verse and he later read it off as written and was so unfamiliar with Scripture that he didn’t know we say “second” instead of “two.” Now, some scholars will say “two” instead of “second” when reading such texts but it’s very uncommon and I doubt Trump was doing so because he was approaching it from a biblical scholarship perspective. My point is that he could easily not know that the imagery there was clearly consistent with hundreds of years of depictions of Jesus. Maybe I’m wrong and he meant to imply he was Jesus but it seems unlikely. It’s still evil and a reminder of what Nebuchadnezzar said right before he started eating grass. But it was likely ignorance and ego but not an intentional blasphemy. I wonder if Paula White sent it to him. I wouldn’t put such intentional blasphemy past her.

Seven years ago, many of us warned about Christians deconstructing their faith, drifting into atheism or progressive Christianity. I was a major advocate of that message myself. But something even more devastating has happened in the years since. People have deconstructed their Christian faith not for secularism or a false gospel, but for the sake of political identity. For the sake of belonging to a movement and reaping benefits. For the sake of Donald Trump. And now the fruit of that deconstruction is visible in plain sight. The evidence is undeniable.

Trump posted this. Blasphemous? In the extreme. But you know who I blame for this more than Trump? Word-Faith/NAR preachers who have been surrounding him for years. Paula White compared Trump to Jesus just last week. Two of the most prominent SBC pastors, Robert Jeffress and Jack Graham, have given their full support of Paula White. Trump attended Las Vegas International Church some years ago and "Pastor Denise," had Trump come on stage and she said of him, "What I hear the Lord say, 'This is my Son in whom I am well pleased.'" She not only compared Trump directly to the Son of God, but claimed God as the source of her information. Sheer blasphemy. Trump is no theologian. These Word-Faith/NAR charlatans and heretics claim to be. And shame on Robert Jeffress and Jack Graham for supporting them. In doing so, they participate in their sin.

Megan Basham and Allie Beth Stuckey along with their followers are proof positive of the Trump cult. The damage done to the reputation of the true Faith is incalculable at this point. One day they will stand face to face with Jesus and have to give an account for every word. “It’s a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

And now he has. The president told the press pool he did not think it was a depiction of him as Jesus but a depiction of him as a physician or doctor.

Let me make one thing clear to those of you reading my post. None of what I am writing about deals with voting for Trump. It's about Christian’s continued association with Trump, cultural apologists defending him over Christ's clear teachings, and their outreach to culture pushing social issues over the Gospel. Nine out of ten of my friends voted for Trump. I understand the dilemma they faced. Here's my political position for the record. I have voted in every election since 1976 and have always voted Republican completely down ticket and have never once voted for a Democrat. Yes, even in 2016 and 2024. Last year I wrote in Nikki Haley. Also consider this, I have lived for 72 years in California and Oregon. I knew my vote wouldn't count in these Democratic strongholds, and I still voted.

@bill_jensen @conservmillen The problem is the “uncompromising Christians” critique is one sided. Can you honestly say Biden or Kamala would be Christ-like presidents? It doesn’t land because it’s hypocritical.

That image is what happens when Paula White is your personal pastor and people around you are continually comparing you to Christ. Trump desperately needs to understand the bad news that precedes the Good News: you are a helpless sinner in desperate need of a Savior, as we all once were.

@megbasham "I don't know if the President..." You're still looking for ways to excuse Trump. It's too late for you, Frank Turek, Alisa Childers, Allie Beth Stuckey and friends to turn back now. You're all Trump apologists who spent years defaming true Christians who foresaw all this.

@conservmillen Many conservative Christians have stated that the damage to the reputation of Christ and Christianity through MAGA evangelicals embrace of Trump and the immorality that comes with him, justifies the response of revulsion.

All this hate for evangelicals when, statistically, we are the only bloc consistently holding it down for biblical marriage, the pro-life cause, secure borders, and every other issue. We are by far the most conservative and united in every political, cultural, and moral area. This is not statistically contested. Without the strength and cohesion of this group, conservatives lose everything. Consequently, the country loses everything. Not an exaggeration. So ask yourself: why would someone want to divide, destroy, and demoralize this stalwart group? The answer is obvious if the person is progressive, but it becomes a bit murky when the people targeting this group are on the “right,” right? Something to ponder

Rep. Nancy Mace says she has seen the Epstein client list and warns that the names on it will shock the entire world. She adds, as a Republican, that the DOJ is protecting those identities. According to Mace, the list includes both Republicans and Democrats, along with wealthy elites, media figures, people in power, and even current and former prime ministers and presidents. She says the Epstein case will go down as one of the greatest cover-ups in American history.

We are now seeing this familiar pattern by the disciples of Trump everywhere: adopt the tone of a "critic" but use it to shield the person you claim to question. This is an attempt at controlling the narrative dressed up as discernment. And look where it has led: the Christian witness reduced to ashes.

Cringe! Paula White paralleled Trump to Jesus, saying: “Mr. President, no one has paid the price like you have paid the price. It almost cost you your life. You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. It’s a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior showed us but it didn’t end there for Him, and it didn’t end there for you. And I believe that the Lord said to tell you this: because of His victory, you will be victorious in all you put your hands to.” If that doesn’t make you cringe, the comparison, the parallel to the Messiah, then I’m not sure what will. Especially that prosperity declaration at the end, that you will be successful in all that you put your hand to. We don’t have any guarantee of that. We have no promise of that in Scripture. We’ve been given no promise of that by God Himself. I hope that Trump is successful in the things that are righteous and good, but the comparison to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords to Jesus Christ is just unnecessary and simply not true. Let’s just not do that. And let’s not “name it and claim it” either because that’s not something we have the right, the authority, or the guidance to do.

The issue isn’t how anyone voted. It’s the years of outspoken devotion to Donald Trump now being repackaged as a reluctant “lesser of two evils” choice. Basham's public advocacy is on the record, revisionism only confirms what most everyone knows, she's untrustworthy. Just say what it was.

Yes, a vote is not a sign of eternal devotion to a person, and it IS simply making a choice between the best set of policies. But we do have an obligation as Christians to choose the best set. We can’t say, I am going to choose the option that is the most destructive and the most opposed to biblical morality and that’s OK because it’s not a sign of my eternal devotion. Maybe not, but it IS a sign that you don’t care much about biblical morality and using your vote to be salt and light in the political sphere. I have said ad nauseam that there are other options than voting for the GOP if you cannot stomach the candidate. I can understand that. Third-party, sitting out in protest. Fine. Saying, I am going to vote for a candidate who is not only promising abortion up to birth, but that there will be no religious exemptions from providing abortions, no, that’s not acceptable when there are other options. It is not acceptable to vote for the party promising to enshrine laws that require parents to affirm a child’s gender dysphoria or risk and being them taken away by the state It is not OK to vote for a party that is working to ensure that LGBT pornography is available to children. It is not OK to vote for a party that is promising to put perverted men in women’s prisons and allow them to compete in women’s sports and occupy women’s private vulnerable spaces. And there are many more Dem policies like this.

Jesus said, “It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.” And again, “what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. “ ~Matthew 15 Those words came back to me later in the day after reading Donald Trump’s Easter morning message. On the day Christians remember the risen Lamb who refused to revile, we were met instead with a blast of vulgarity and pornographic blood lust. Jesus did not treat such speech as harmless. He called those who spoke this way “blind guides” and told His followers to leave them alone. The words Trump used on the holiest day of the year reveal more about him than the platform he’s built or promises he’s made. What has struck me just as deeply is the silence of those who spent the last month applauding as Trump read a few Bible verses from a teleprompter. They treated it as evidence of spiritual seriousness. But now, when his own words on Easter morning stand in direct contradiction to the teaching of Jesus, they have nothing to say. Not Franklin Graham, Greg Laurie. Allie Beth Stuckey, Megan Basham, Frank Turek and others. Those who rushed to praise Trump’s past performances are like the blind guides, and the pattern is unmistakable: loud approval when it promotes their “cult”, absolute silence when truth would cost them. Their silence in the face of Trump’s demonic vulgarity speaks for itself.
