@billkinneymath@YouTube Just got this used edition based on watching your beautiful lectures on Abstract Algebra 😎 My main textbook is A First Course in Abstract Algebra by John B Fraleigh which is wonderful for learning on your own but think the book lacks examples and more exercises in each section.
@martinmrmar@YouTube Sorry I'm late in responding. I haven't been on X in a long time. Thanks for watching my video. I use "Contemporary Abstract Algebra" by Joe Gallian. I think it's good and interesting to read. One downside is the 10th edition has a lot more typos than the previous editions.
@billkinneymath@YouTube Hello Prof Kinney! I really enjoyed watching your Abstract Algebra vids on YouTube and was wondering if you have any good book recommendations for self study? I'm currently trying to teach myself Abstract Algebra using the textbook by John B Fraleigh. Are there any others?
I hope you find this to be an interesting and informative video I made a few years ago in a #calculus class. Please excuse the institution-required facemask that probably didn't do anything useful. #covid 🙄 #mathematicsyoutube.com/watch?v=TVBDv7…
The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus seems mysterious and is difficult for many people to prove. But there is a certain perspective in which it is (almost) "obvious". I describe that perspective in this video lecture. youtube.com/watch?v=YhdCIm…
