After 3 innings of work for the Willmar Stingers, Liam Hohenstein’s night is done. After the Big Sticks scored 7 runs on 10 hits in the 1st 2 innings, Hohenstein came in and pitched the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings. Mesa’s Liam Hohenstein was absolutely nasty on the mound last night (7/8/25) for the Willmar Stingers in their 4-1 win over the Mankato MoonDogs. Hohenstein was simply untouchable as he held the MoonDogs hitless through 5 shutout innings, during which he struck out 7!! In the 2 Northwoods League games Hohenstein has pitched since joining the Stingers for the 2nd half of the summer, he has pitched 9 innings, allowed just 1 run on a mere 2 hits, issued just 3 walks, and struck out 11. Over his 1st 2 games, Hohenstein is 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA and a 0.56 WHIP. #RMAC #RMACbsb #RumbleMavs

Mesa retook the series lead over MSU Denver by winning the 2nd game of yesterday’s doubleheader 11-2. ⚾️ Liam Hohenstein was impressive on the mound. In 5 innings of work, Hohenstein gave up only 2 runs on 3 hits, did not walk a single batter, and struck out 7!!! ⚾️ Kolby Felix led the way at the plate, going 3 for 4 with 4 RBIs, and 2 runs, including a 2 run home run in the 2nd and a solo home run in the 4th. In the 1st game of the doubleheader, Felix went 2 for 3 with a run and a double. Thus, for the day, Felix was 5 for 7 (.714) with 4 RBIs, 3 runs, a double, and 2 home runs. Some would say that’s not too bad of a day! In addition to Felix’s 2 bombs, Mesa also received home runs from: ⚾️ Cameron Cartwright, who hit a solo shot in the 1st inning; ⚾️ Josh Romans, who sent one flying over the center field wall for a solo home run in the 2nd; & ⚾️ Max Berni, who hit a 3 RBI home run to center in the 5th.
