The Vice Admiral James Bond Stockdale Leadership Award represents the highest honor for those in command, and today I am honored to recognize the leadership and achievements of this year’s awardees — Capt. Steve Lawrence and Cmdr. Ronald Rumfelt.

And this is why triathletes are dull AF. During my best season ever which culminated in becoming a 70.3 age group champion, I drank wine, ate pizza and cake, and took whole weeks off training. Life is important to for long term happiness and health.

1/ Just like training, be boring and build a consistent routine. Food is fuel. Food is not entertainment. Athletes who develop consistent meal patterns are better able to monitor and control their nutrition to optimally match their training.
