Its been 19 years since your passing, and every year feels heavier than the year before because grief doesn’t get lighter over time, it gets stronger and lonelier as the years pass and the longing for a loved one deepens and grows. Dad, I haven’t been able to visit your grave for the last two years due to my knee injury and I didn’t quite comprehend how coming here after so long could feel. I miss you every day, in every aspect of my life and pray that Allah has rested your soul in Jannah. For everyone missing a loved one today, take heart and have faith in Allah’s plan for He is the best of planners. May we all be reunited with our loved ones in the gardens of Paradise.

We have to get to a point and accept that democracy cannot work for us. Allowing poor people who lack information to vote in a system where politicians are rich and informed is a disaster. We need to find an alternative to democracy. Voting will not solve our problem. Poverty can only be eradicated by government initiative and that government is voted for by poor voters who lack information. The government on the other hand struggles to keep people poor and without information so that they can be governed and stolen easily. Breaking away from this cycle will require thinking outside our democratic systems and processes.
