What is Solstice and why it is prohibited in Islam. Solstice Finance is a DeFi project built on the Solana blockchain. Its goal is, . create a stablecoin called USX . generate yield using institutional trading strategies . share that yield with users Solstice mainly has 4 products, 1. USX stablecoin 2. Yield vault 3. USX yield bearing token 4. $SLX Governance or reward token when you deposit $USDC or $USDT solstice issues $USX and use your funds in a following way, Solstice takes deposited assets and runs, . delta neutral trading . funding rate arbitrage . basis trading . hedged staking Delta Neutral Trading (Not Halal) A strategy where traders open both buy and sell positions at the same time. The goal is to reduce market risk and earn from small price differences or fees instead of price going up. It is not Halal because, delta neutral trading usually still depends on derivatives, futures, and speculative financial contracts. Even if risk is reduced, the profit often comes from complex speculative market mechanics rather than real ownership or real business activity. Funding Rate Arbitrage (Not Halal) A strategy where traders earn money from funding payments in perpetual futures markets. They open opposite trades to collect the extra fees paid by other traders. Funding rate arbitrage is usually considered haram because it earns profit from perpetual futures contracts, which are derivative based and highly speculative. The income comes from funding payments between traders, not from owning or trading real assets. Basis Trading (Not Halal) A strategy that profits from the price difference between spot markets and futures markets. Traders buy in one market and sell in another to capture the gap. Basis trading is considered doubtful because it relies on futures contracts and price spread speculation between markets. The profit usually comes from financial market discrepancies rather than real asset ownership or productive business activity. Hedged Staking (Not Halal) A strategy where someone stakes crypto to earn rewards while also opening trades to protect against price drops. It tries to keep staking income while reducing market risk. Hedged staking becomes doubtful because it combines staking with derivative hedge trades to manage price risk. The staking part is acceptable, but the hedge positions often involve speculative futures or leverage. Also, When you deposit USX into Yield Vault, you receive eUSX and eUSX represents, . your deposited USX . PLUS accumulated yield and, $SLX is the ecosystem governance token. Users earn it through, > using Solstice > holding USX > providing liquidity > participating in ecosystem Let me summarize this into small steps, 1. You deposit USDC or USDT 2. Protocol mints USX 3. You deposit USX into yield vaults 4. protocol runs strategies I discussed (haram) 5. profit generated 6.
