Di daerahku ada perkumpulan "orang penting" (mayoritas priyayi), isinya keturunan ningrat, pejabat, dan akademisi. Anggotanya cuma belasan.
Kemarin, ketuanya dateng ke rumah. Beliau istri Kyai di sini, kami memanggilnya Bu Nyai. Beliau minta aku buat gabung... alesannya butuh regenerasi anggota muda.
Bahasa yang beliau pakai itu Jawa Krama Inggil yang halus banget, ada campuran bahasa Kedhaton (bahasa lingkungan keraton Surakarta).
Bahkan untuk penyebutan diri sendiri, beliau bukan pakai "kula", tapi "dalem". Ke aku pun manggilnya bukan "panjenengan", tapi "jengandika".
Kalau kata ibuku, beliau-beliau ini kaum "Injih." Bukan cuma sekadar 'nggih', tapi "Injihhhhhh..." (dengan nada serendah dan sehalus mungkin).
Aku yang krama inggilnya grathul-grathul, mau gamau harus berusaha ngimbangi. Meski ya pas ngobrol ujung-ujungnya tetep campur bahasa Indo, wkwk.
Intinya, beliau bilang, "Pangajeng-ajeng dalem ingkang ageng, mbok bilih jengandika kersa paring wekdal saha nunggil dados perangan wonten ing majelis menika. Awit dalem rumaos, bilih rawuh jengandika saged paring warna saha nambahi seserepan wonten ing saben lampahing pados ilmu. Mugi jengandika kersa paring palilah saha pangestu."
Nyang artinye, intinya beliau minta izin dan berharap aku ikut biar bisa nambah warna dan ilmu baru 😇

We are outraged. An Indonesian peacekeeper is murdered. Another is fighting for his life. Israel bombed the base where they served.
This is clearly not an accident, nor a collateral damage. This is Netanyahu’s regime showing, once again, that they don’t care about international law, about UN personnel, and about the lives of those who dedicate themselves to peace.
Indonesia has gone above and beyond. We have sent over 1,200 of our troops to serve under the UN flag. The Indonesian government also joined the Board of Peace to push for a just and lasting resolution in the Middle East. We extended our hand in good faith. Yet the answer to that good faith is a bomb dropped on our soldiers’ base. They spat on every effort Indonesia has made for peace.
But let us be honest, this is not surprising. Netanyahu’s regime has shown time and again that they are indifferent to the world’s calls for restraint. They ignore UN resolutions. They strike UN facilities. They kill civilians, journalists, aid workers, and now peacekeepers. No one is off-limits. No one is safe. Sadly, it keeps going because the world keeps allowing it.
To the UN Secretary-General, we appreciate your condemnation and your condolences. But words are not enough anymore. The UN must move beyond statements. Concrete, enforceable, and urgent action is what this moment demands. The credibility of the UN is on the line. If the world body cannot protect its own peacekeepers, what exactly is it protecting?
To the nations of the world, now is the time to act together. Push for accountability. Refer those responsible to international courts. Enforce the rules that you all signed up to uphold. International law is only as strong as the willingness of nations to defend it. That willingness has been tested over and over again by Netanyahu’s regime. For countless of times, the world has failed the test.
Do not let this death be forgotten in a news cycle. Do not let this become just another statistic in a long list of violations. Demand justice. Demand accountability. Make clear that those who attack UN peacekeepers will face real consequences.

I strongly condemn Sunday’s incident during which an Indonesian peacekeeper of @UNIFIL_ was killed amidst hostilities between Israel & Hizbullah. Another Indonesian peacekeeper was seriously injured in the same incident. My deepest condolences to the family, friends & colleagues of the peacekeeper who died & to Indonesia. I wish a full & fast recovery to the injured peacekeeper. This is just one of a number of recent incidents that have jeopardized the safety & security of peacekeepers. I call on all to uphold their obligations under international law & to ensure the safety & security of @UN personnel & property at all times.

In March, when the US sought to stabilize oil prices after starting a war with Iran, OFAC issued waivers for Russian crude. As Russian tankers approached the island, the US placed Cuba on a tiny list of countries it said were *still* not allowed to buy Russian oil. Two ships which were en route changed course under pressure.
