What a glorious day at the Toronto Caribbean Carnival Grand Parade!
This is always one of my favourite times of the year, as you see the city light up with music and joy.
Outfit by Toronto Revellers & @CNzInc.

Hi, I’m Naheed Nenshi. I’m running to be the leader of Alberta’s NDP and the next premier of this province.
I can’t do this without your support. Visit nenshi.ca to buy a membership and sign up as a supporter.
We can do this. Together. For Alberta. For all of us.

A single person on social assistance (Ontario Works) gets $733 a month or $8,796 a year, frozen since October 2018. Meanwhile the cost of food alone went like that.

We hear there's a petition going around to remove the newly installed Bloor W #bikelanes #bikeTO because no one is using them. That's funny, these painted lanes seem to getting tons of use!

@Paul_TO @JILLSLASTWORD No leader should be supported "unequivocally" in a democracy.
English

@JILLSLASTWORD Good golly. How is rehashing this in public helpful in any way aside from trying to make yourself look good in eyes of some? Jill, the leader was forced to make hard decision. Your job now is to support her unequivocally, not undermine her one tweet at a time. Be better. #ondp

@CllrAmberMorley Oh thank Goodness!
I take the 66b on my way home... 2 busses an hour at rush hour is impossible.
I'm glad to have you as my Deputy Mayor to advocate for us commuters! ☺️

R. v. Lambert, 2023 ONCA 689: Under s. 8 of the Charter, a seizure is not defined by whether the police took something or were given it by a third party.

Big s. 8 Charter case out of the ONCA today: R v Lambert, 2023 ONCA 689. Paciocco JA writes reasons that largely reject the passive vs. active state action distinction that the ONCA left open in Orlandis-Habsburgo as to what constitutes a search or seizure so as to engage s. 8.

No better way to start October! 🍂🍁
Stopped by @CllrAmberMorley's Fall Fest. Great to chat with neighbours on a beautiful October Sunday afternoon.

Great to see the team that makes the dream happen at the first inaugural #fallfest hosted by Deputy Mayor @CllrAmberMorley

@TTChelps 66b at Old Mill ... shows up, goes out of service and leaves.
Why does this line never get priority, when the demand is high?

Good article by @ferjourno that accurately depicts working-class organization as a precondition of successfully defeating evictions at the Landlord and Tenant Board. mediacoop.ca/node/119165

@sasa_d1m @davescrivener No, Morley is a progressive. Gimme an example otherwise.
