@Martyupnorth I'm mean at least you are recognizing there wasn't much of a solid plan with too many plot holes. I feel like people on the left are underestimating the communication and mobilization this has. A lot of people think they will overwhelmingly vote no and you guys will just go away

@pug_mahone81 @Citizen004 The separatists are the ones who removed Jason Kenney and installed Danielle Smith. They are now embedded inside of the party. They cannot just put this behind them unfortunately without removing the separatists in the party running the show. She will be removed by them

@bitchcuffed @Citizen004 The NDP wants to stoke this issue in the UCP. It’s their election strategy. The UCP wants to put it behind them. Have the referendum, have them get about 35% so it’s not close enough to spend time on internally, but also sends a msg to Ottawa, and then we all move on.

I'm not a separatist and wish it weren't true, but it's obvious the guy screwed up and handed the separatists a back-up petition. He chased the cameras before engaging his brain. What's worse, lots of people warned him. A big ego got the better of him.

@pug_mahone81 @Citizen004 Refusing to have the question of separation on the ballot would be a far more effective way to squash their hopes. It would also make it clearer. They would then be forced to go back to trying to create their own separatist political party and fail at being elected into office.

@EmailSusans @Citizen004 No matter how many times they will say they are putting the question on the ballot because they "care" about the forever Canada petition suddenly- doesn't make it true. It's a back up question because the Seppies petition failed. Everyone knows this including the Seppies.

@pug_mahone81 @Citizen004 They absolutely need to clean up their act and deal with the separatist infestation aggressively. UCP supporters should be pushing them to do so. The NDP is being very loud about this right now but conservatives need to get even louder and take back their party from the Seppies.

@pug_mahone81 @Citizen004 I hope you realise being against separatists doesn't automatically make you an NDP supporter. You don't need to tolerate the UCP allowing separatists to infest your political party. The NDP agrees with you that the separatists are a problem that needs to go away.

@bitchcuffed @Citizen004 If it’s soundly defeated it’s done, for at least a decade. The UCP can tell them to pound sound and the party can move on. That’s their best case scenario. For many people, such as myself, the NDP is unelectable, there are no circumstances where they could ever get my vote.

@pug_mahone81 @Citizen004 The Seppies have infested the UCP. It is dangerously naive to think they will just quietly accept the results and go away when they have made their way inside of the UCP. The way they go away is the UCP removing them from their base - not a question on a ballot.

NDP are the only ones raising the alarm about the dangers of this infestation of Seppies in the provincial government. UCP unfortunately isn't dealing with their infestation

@bitchcuffed @Citizen004 I’ve come to realize the UCP, much like most people, realize the separation effort will fail miserably on the ballot, which is why they want it on there - put it to bed and move on. It’s the NDP that wants to keep separation simmering as a 2027 general election issue.

@LiveFreeHoney @LukaszukAB You were not promised a referendum. Source: Elections Alberta Forever Canada Application. elections.ab.ca/uploads/2025-C… There were two options: Legislative or referendum. Forever Canada petition clearly stated it was for legislation/policy NOT referendum. Stop spreading lies.
