Today, while carrying out my duties in the Nairobi CBD, I came across this heartbreaking case after members of the public brought to my attention a lady who has been enduring immense hardship on the streets. They informed me that recently, someone poured sanitizer into one of her eyes, leaving it badly injured and producing discharge. The lady narrated to me what had happened and explained how she ended up living on the streets. She shared that she started living on the streets back in 2019 when COVID-19 began, and life took a very difficult turn for her, which left her struggling to cope and survive. After speaking with her, I also realized that she needed more help, as she did not appear to be mentally well and required professional assessment and support. I personally facilitated her to admitted to Rapid Rehabilitation Centre for Addiction. , where she will receive the necessary rehabilitation and support. Arrangements will also be made to facilitate her medical treatment and follow-up care for her injured eye. I will personally be visiting her regularly and following up on her progress to ensure that she receives the help, care, and support she deserves as she begins the journey of rebuilding her life. If you ever come across someone in need and you are in a position to help, please do so. God often uses ordinary people to answer the prayers of those who are suffering. Your kindness, compassion, and willingness to lend a helping hand can make a life-changing difference to someone who has lost hope.
