I was walking to school alone at 5 in 1995. Now, my school was within sight of the end of the road we lived on, but it was still not a close walk especially for a 5 year old. We used to let kids roam and "be home when the streetlights come on" but abductions became too common on cities, but rural areas are still more laid back and kids adventuring is still common.

Netflix has a show called Old Enough! Toddlers running errands. Alone. Westerners watch it like a horror film. Japanese people watch it like a Tuesday. In Japan, kids as young as 6 ride trains alone to school. The country isn’t careless — it’s built for them. Crossing guards. Volunteer patrols. Drivers who actually stop. That’s not luck. I'd say that national median feels right because you have places where the cost of living is very low and others that are very high. My wife and I (before I lost my job) were approaching 200000 per year (~30 million yen) and with our family of now 6, it still would be l be hard some months.

My argument, as a Christian, is that Christ didn't teach forcing our beliefs on others (that's also a very Jewish thing as well) just that we should tell you what we believe and why and acceptance is up to you. If you don't choose Christianity, we'll be sad, but I firmly believe true belief cannot be forced. Also: "A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still"

@vly2m @higureshuuen This is a lie sold by Muslims for unearned acceptance since countries have seen Jews and Christians assimilate and so then very wrongly assumed Muslims would as well. Yahweh and Allah are not the same. I used Yahweh instead of simply "God" since "Allah" means "god" in Arabic.

It also means "absolutely never." → "Chotto ii?" = Excuse me → "Chotto matte" = Wait a sec → "Chotto…" = Hard NO → "Chotto kibishii" = Absolutely not → "Chotto kawaii" = Actually VERY cute → "Chotto chigau" = You're completely wrong → "Chotto ne…" = Not interested Same word. 7 meanings. Some contradict each other. You don't translate "chotto." You feel it.
