@Midatlblog I had this conversation with one of the head of @Lawma_gov when I want to pick up my letter as a PSP provider, as a waste management consultant I did see a few loophole that needed to be addressed, and I’m supposed to have a meeting with @Lawma_gov to present my proposal, since February. @muyiwag please take look at this.

Coming back to what I was saying earlier today, according to the MD of LAWMA himself, there is no clear master plan for waste management, which is a bit sad. It may be because the population has grown far beyond what it was during Gov Fashola’s era. Recall that LAMATA updated its own master plan to 2050, and the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment has just released theirs running to 2030. These are the small drawbacks I mentioned, ideally, LAWMA should also have a solid master plan up to at least 2030. With proper planning, issues like “Lagos is smelling” would have been avoided. To be fair, they are so working hard to put things in place now. However, I strongly suggest that waste operations be outsourced to the private sector ASAP, while LAWMA focuses on policy and regulation only as a quick fix. This would dramatically clean up the city and give LAWMA time to develop a proper master plan and make critical investments in certain infrastructures. The government cannot effectively handle waste for a city of 24 million people alone this is a fact. I know it may be costly, but at this point, it’s an urgent and necessary investment. Kudos to them so far but something urgent needs to be done 👏 @Lawma_gov @LawmaCares @followlasg @LasgMOE @jidesanwoolu @drobafemihamzat @muyiwag

Your Excellency @AAdeleke_01, commendable strides in making Osun investor-ready. Your reforms on ease of doing business and industrial growth are impactful. At Trash Must Go (TMG) @trashmustgo_ng , we’ve developed a PPP model focused on integrated waste management, public sanitation, and waste-to-energy to support industrial zones and attract sustainable investment. We’d value the opportunity to present this to your team.

𝗢𝘀𝘂𝗻 𝗜𝘀 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Yesterday evening, we engage with new investors setting up factories around Ile-Ife, our administration remains firmly committed to transforming Osun into a thriving industrial hub through strong public-private partnerships. Since 2022, we have; simplified and digitised tax systems to eliminate multiple taxation, created a one-stop investment platform for ease of doing business, removed bureaucratic bottlenecks across key ministries and revived long-abandoned Free Trade Zones now attracting local and foreign investors We also pioneered a 45-day timeline for processing Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O). No delays will be tolerated. Investors experiencing challenges can escalate directly to the relevant commissioners or my office. I commend our traditional rulers, including Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II and Oba Adesuyi Haastrup, for their unwavering support in attracting investments into our state. Osun is rising and we are building a business-friendly, investor-ready economy that works for all.

As a commissioner for Transportation or Minister for Transportation in Nigeria, within my first 90 days in office, I would revoke driver’s licenses for roughly 95% of Nigeria drivers, and enforce stricter regulations in regards to getting a driver’s license, enable simulation environments for test, written examination, and then practical testing. It’s fair to say most of the drivers on Nigeria road don’t understand the basic ethics of driving, sharing roads with other motorists, speed limits, pedestrians and the likes.

This is peak ignorance, and from your responses it’s fair to say you suffer from Schizophrenia, particularly delusions and disorganized thinking. Because my response isn’t for or against the church. I’m clearly calling out the false narrative the Individual who made the video is claiming, unless he has done his due diligence, that his statement becomes a fact.

You just validated my point thank you. I don’t know what the huge ministries generate in revenue. But I also get where you’re coming from. Investment opportunities isn’t just limited to manufacturing alone. In my own capacity I tend to create values which in-turns create employment or empowerment as you call it, but that doesn’t mean everyone shares that ideology. N.B My stance isn’t for or against the church.

@biyicharles @ChuksEricE He is making a point. We both can agree he isn't 100% accurate with his disposition we can also agree that, with the sort of revenue some of these huge ministries rake in daily, they are yet to replicate it in investment opportunities that are aimed at empowering lives.

My stance on faulting his statement still stands, again you can’t categorically say all of the businesses in that district are all own by foreigners and no one of Nigeria decent has a business in that district. Unless he has gone through the secretary of state website to identify each of those businesses and who owns them, then we can have a different conversation, till then he sounds so ignorant, making that claim.

@biyicharles @ChuksEricE Instead of faulting his argument, you should know that Winners has enough resources to go into business investments - manufacturing and production - but have chosen to do what they alone consider purposeful.

@johnson_ja50117 @ChuksEricE You sound just like an individual with a relatively low IQ, I am saying categorically that his statement his flawed and not accurate. Maybe next you should learn to read to understand rather than read to respond.

@biyicharles @ChuksEricE Shut up your mouth... Church is a scam. Building the church for Nigerians not Canadians. When oyibo is selling off their church houses you are building for gullible Africans. When Biafra is restored, all the religious houses must be under the government from A-Z.

This is a very flawed argument, saying you’re sure no Nigeria has a company here doesn’t hold up, I as a Nigeria have a few companies that dint have a Nigeria name or identity, and I bet there are hundreds of companies like mine also, that are owned by Nigeria all across the west.

@GRVlagos Shutting down a city for a coordinated sanitation effort isn’t automatically “parochial.” In a place as busy as Lagos, sometimes you need one clear moment where everyone pauses, the city breathes, drains get opened, black spots are cleared, and people are reminded that sanitation is a shared responsibility. That’s not small thinking that’s leadership and coordination. Now, the part I will agree with is this: a cleanup day alone won’t fix Lagos. If the only plan is sweeping and taking pictures, then yes, it becomes cosmetic. But that’s not what it’s supposed to be. A sanitation day should be the kickoff, not the conclusion.
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour@GRVlagos

Shutting down a city of 20 million people to clean their immediate environment is parochial and lacks imagination. For emphasis: the issue is not so much about cleaning your environment (which is great) but the logistics of waste management - starting from the collection, to disposal and recycling. Anything short of rethinking this system is cosmetic and unimaginative.

@emmflex @nosafk I don't even know what gas prices are on a typical day, so driving a EV finally close that chapter.

I drive an EV, and I’m not going back to fuel or diesel. The car is super quiet, and maintenance costs are low. I only need to worry about charging it. While I’m at work, I leave it on charge. Once I close from work, it’s fully charged. I don’t notice any strange noises or gas smell inside the car. The driving experience is superb. I recommend it🤝
