An advantage of the state BB tournament being a week later than usual, is I was able to swing by Southland practice for a feature story. When you take away the crowds, starting lineups, and bright lights, HS teams are really just a bunch of friends playing the game they love.

As rewarding an experience as any I’ve had. Grateful for the opportunity, thankful I took it, the 45 crew (incredible, too may to name), the messages (overwhelming), and all the kids that absolutely laid it on the line this week. It was magic to hear that music in the headset.
