Just a little word on Declan Meredith, who is playing outstanding rugby at the moment. There's a train of thought about not wanting to rush another young 10, and I get the sentiment. But... @balumbah @bkScrumDoctor Perhaps several calls were made. Of course the CEO/governing body rep will speak about the transition positively. It doesn’t change the fact that people across the board are concerned about the franchise’s long-term future, especially with the Bears about to arrive.

@RugbyReg Hmm - your thoughts?? Fair enough for mine. If Angus wants to pursue this further he can - legally. These 'training incidents" are far from uncommon. What is uncommon is a fractured eye socket - and Angus has every reason to be angry. Repairing that relationship will be hard!!

@bkScrumDoctor The vast majority of coaches are amazing. I’m very grateful for the sacrifices they make. This situation, occurring a few weeks, really disappointed me. The players found out after they’d won the semi that coach wouldn’t be there the following week. Not ideal. Poor planning.

If you coach kids sport, you commit for the whole season. Two of my kids made grand finals netball/basketball—coach missed the GF because of holidays. Both lost by 1pt in OT. Subs/combinations/tactics matter. A fill‑in coach doesn’t know the team.

@bkScrumDoctor @CyberKo_ala I have no problem them playing NRLW, it’s a professional set up. The problem is the timing. By moving Super Rugby & NZ Aupiki it runs right up to the NRLW. Not sure you can do both now. Maybe that was the plan from NZR & RA.

@CyberKo_ala They select a team off no Super Rugby games. Super Rugby W competition is in June/July. Am guessing to align with Aupiki it also probably stops them from playing in the NRLW.

Now that Joe Root has finally got his century in Australia, can we please turn the spotlight to the elephant in the room: Steve Smith has played 4th innings in Tests 33 times and still has ZERO hundreds. In my opinion, every English great should start hammering the point that Smith can’t be considered an all-time great until he gets a 4th innings ton exactly the same way the Australian legends spent years moving the goalposts on Root by saying he wasn’t elite because he “couldn’t score hundreds in Australia.” Fair’s fair, right?
