Oxford University researchers have discovered the densest element yet known to science... The new element, Governmentium (symbol=Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called pillocks. Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete. Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2 to 6 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganisation in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganisation will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes. This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as a critical morass. When catalysed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium (symbol=Ad), an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium, since it has half as many pillocks but twice as many morons.

🚨 Students Supporting Israel at Catholic University wanted to hold an event on ending antisemitism. The administration said fine. Only if you also include the other side. The other side. Of ending antisemitism. SSI proposed: “Ending Antisemitism in America.” Submitted: January 19 Denied: February 25 The university’s Center for Student Engagement said the event required another speaker for a “balanced presentation” representing “both sides of this issue.” Both sides? Of whether Jew-hatred should be confronted? Other student groups get to hold one-sided events without a problem. But when pro-Israel students want to confront antisemitism, suddenly Jew-hatred becomes a viewpoint that needs representation. Disgusting.

@joshuarolson @mutex7 @Aarondklein Dude says that Jews everywhere aren’t to blame for Israel and you say that he’s being irrational?!? You’ve articulated a fundamentally irrational and anti-Semitic argument. Are you sure this account isn’t satire?!? Or are you just that stupid?

@mutex7 @Aarondklein That's why you don't debate them. Just stepping into that means you're accepting the premise that their position is rational and honest and can be reasoned with. The more people who let them know their views are simply unacceptable in civilized society, the better.

Unforgivably horrible take. The idea that Jews everywhere are responsible for the actions of the Israeli government is dead wrong. Calling antisemitic terrorism “blowback” is deranged. I agree with you on a lot of economic stuff but this is revolting.
Matt Stoller@matthewstoller

The guys family was killed last week by Israel and he was taking revenge. That’s wrong. Murder is wrong. But this isn’t some uptick of antisemitism, it’s blowback. A lot of us have been saying that Israel is bad for the Jews. It is. We have to reject that country.

Posts like this are terrifying. “Infestation”…anti-Zionism is almost always rooted in anti-Semitism.

@Jesse_Leg @CityJournal STOP supporting Israel and its genocide operations. Israel murdered the man's family. We have an infestation of genocide supporters in the US Congress that needs to be VOTED out.

@marksjo1 Yes true. But can they be prosecuted for being unruly in a hotel lobby or restaurant? I think the state intentionally treats the free exercise of religion differently.

@bkleinerman Well, I’m not. But I’d think public accommodation, which does mean I can’t discriminate (with carve outs for religious institutions) wouldn’t mean you can’t toss unruly demonstrators from your hotel lobby or restaurant.

@marksjo1 It seems more likely that there are relevant state laws regulating this behavior. The problem with the private property angle is that it’s a place of public accommodation. Perhaps we’re in a new realm of the law here? Or you and I are just not lawyers.

@bkleinerman I think there is; I’m just not sure the FACE Act is it. At the very least, churches are private property. So, if they stayed after being asked to leave, I’d guess it’s trespassing?

@marksjo1 Probably more cases for abortion than anything else. But I don’t see why there wouldn’t be a law preventing ppl from walking into a church and silencing the parishioners with their chants.

@bkleinerman Ok, but I don’t think that’s what the text of the law says. I guess if we had time—I trust we don’t—we’d look to see what kind of thing has been successfully prosecuted (probably more cases for abortion clinics).

@bkleinerman @marksjo1 You went to insults. You don’t have reason, data, or cleverness on your side. And you’re the one who keeps at it. Simmer down. Go reason among your own. The adults and whatnot.

@RandalHendrick9 @marksjo1 I’m not rolling over for anyone. I’m not a fan of masked secret police. But I’m also enough of an adult not to call them Nazis. I never called Obama a “commie.”
