This will apply even in states that have "legal" pot. If they want to use it as a weapon they will have federal law to back them up, EVEN IN STATES THAT MADE IT LEGAL. /2

Another thing to think about - law enforcement will be acting as a goon squad for Trump. Law enforcement may want to be able to use pot as a tool again. Those who need medical pot may want to ensure they have a stash that is well hidden, in case they do weaponize pot again. /1

Expect things to move quickly, unlike last time. During Trump's first term, his ego was in charge. This time, Heritage Foundation will be driving things - directing the Chief of Staff to decide what the WH pursues, pushing the legal agenda via Mike Johnson and the Senate leader.

Keep an eye out for this, but I suspect that utility execs (electric/natural gas/propane etc.) execs may push to get rid of cold weather rules, laws that prevent disconnects from utilities during winter. Pure greed will be a driving force soon.

@Fly_Sistah @costareports All those votes to enshrine abortion as a right in state constitutions will mean nothing if they impose a national ban on abortion. That is why I was shocked at the number of states that voted for abortion and for Trump. Lots of people did not use their heads.

@costareports Before the election, voters were polled about policies without revealing which candidate proposed them. Harris' were far more popular — even Trump voters generally liked her ideas more, as long as they knew they weren't hers. salon.com/2024/11/08/ame…

I often think back to a breakfast I had w/ Bernie Sanders in 2014, long before he ran. He predicted the future of U.S. politics would belong to the party and leaders who built a working peoples’ coalition focused on addressing economic pain. Those who don’t, he said, would fail.

@cwebbonline I would be very interested to know how much microtargeting Bannon did with the Latino community. If he had some control of their social feeds, he could have changed their attitudes.

A Latino family who voted for Trump speaks out. Not going to lie—this is tough to watch. SPOILER ALERT: It was about the economy. Trump’s threats of mass deportation didn’t matter to them, as they believe it won’t affect their undocumented relatives, because they aren’t criminals. 🤦🏾

@bkmnus Repealing the Affordable Care Act will cause people to die. Going back to insurance denials for preexisting conditions will be a disaster...especially when covid becomes a preexisting condition.

When people lie to you & claim they voted for Trump because everything is too expensive, remind them that Black people living in the same economy didn't vote for the guy who said daily that he'd raise prices with tariffs on all imported goods. Trump's tariffs could cost $78B.

@Fly_Sistah And when they end Medicaid, Disability, Medicare and Social Security, every hospital will be on the ropes financially and many will close, especially in rural/poor areas. Seniors will be unable to afford their rent and food. That will only make the economy worse.

@RepSwalwell Please tell Pres. Biden to ship as many munitions as possible and to let Zelensky take the use limitations off. They do not want to let this end. Give them what they need.

Say goodbye to FDA food inspectors, regional hospitals in rural areas (end of Medicare/Medicaid), safe drinking water in red states, and some blue states, and hello to extreme usury on your credit cards. Say hello to the Russian mafia.

Very few prescription prices were lowered. The unemployment numbers are adjusted DOWN every month. Americans are struggling to pay rent and buy groceries/neccessities. Childhood poverty doubled. More drilling than ever before. A genocid3. Inflation is *not* down for the working class and poor. Millioms of jons were added BACK after Biden ended pandemic protections. Millions of people LOST their health insurance when Biden cut Medicaid. Historic levels of homelessness. Historic levels of extra judicial executions by cops Abandoning Western NC, Georgia and Florida. The working class doesn't benefit from COBRA because they can't afford it. Manufacturing? You mean bombs and weapons? He cut SNAP The working class doesn't care about stocks because they can't afford groceries. And wages were high during the pandemic but they've since came down *for the working class*. We live in this world too. We're not stupid. Stop condescending to us. Haven't you learned a lesson yet?

It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them. While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.

@urbanmyths @RadioFreeTom I think it was more the effect of grocers and suppliers and their persistent price gouging. Inflation was pretty much tamped down but it was grocery prices that were hitting folks in their pocketbook. It slapped them in the face every week.

Democrats vastly underestimated the effect of high food and grocery prices on the population as a whole. Grocery prices are up 50%, even meals at local burger restaurants are 50%-100% higher. We know from history that when the price of bread increases in many countries governments fall. This is exactly what happened here.

I’m so fucking sick of his traitorous act. Yea, traitorous. When you purposely lie about election results, when you purposely lie about “cheating,” when you purposely lie about an election being “stolen,” and when you purposely refuse to accept the results, you are a traitor.

🚨BREAKING: Jamie Raskin said, “Let folks cast their votes for Trump if that’s their choice. But mark my words, we won’t be certifying the election. He might win, but we’ll ensure he doesn’t step foot in the Oval Office.”
